TT, I had to finally watch the video about 6 times and he does skin the back legs.

I don't deer hunt anymore but we used to skin a deer real quick, after gutting, tie it in a tree by its head, cut the hide all around the neck, cut the feet off, then pull down a bit of the hide at the back of the neck and place a golf ball or small rock under the skin, tie a rope with a slip knot around this hide ball, tie the end of the rope to a truck or 4 wheeler and take off, it will pop the hide off in seconds.

Doc .. my now deceased x father in law did our deer the same way. I actually have pictures of it somewhere!

TT

Well I was wrong. He pulls that off seperate from the other.......Well looks tt like you where right , You just can argue with women.emoBang

I am hoping to get out and get a few fuzz tail rats for the stew pot. Love me some squirrell and dumplins. :)

My Dad taught me roughly the same method of cleaning a squirrell. The only difference is that you split the pelt midway along the back, perpendicular to the spine. Get some space under the pelt and pull both off at one time. Take a knife, split the belly up to the rib cage, and finish the process. Run under some cold water and look for the nearest pot!

Good eating!

When I was a kid I had a neighbor who loved squirrels, he would skin even the head out and eat it, he said he loved the brains, cracked the head with some pliers and dug in. I love them fried up with plenty of black pepper, cooked real slow makes them tender.

My grandmother still tells the story of how her father and mother would bicker over who got the brains. I am not that in love with the little things that I am going to crack their skull and dig in! LOL

braaaaains ... braaaaains .. braaaaains .. need brains ( night of the living dead )

I hunt them with a 22 magum and hollow points. I shoot them in the head so most of the bains are left up in the tree. I skin mine and clean them and put them in a bowl of water for at least 24 hours to get the blood out. Then I slow cook in a crockpot, debone them and make squirrel stew. Good stuff!emoHungry

If a squirrel is a rat then a turkey is a buzzard. You eat turkeys don't you SPURHUNTER.emoPoke

Rat, cat, dog, snake, skunk, squirrel....you'll eat em all when ya get real hungry....and they don't taste like chicken....emoSmile

There isn't anything any finer than a mess of squirrels. True, they are just rats with fuzzy tails, but the main difference is the diet. Squirrels eat a lot of acorns and around my house, they are full of corn and bird seed. LOL Rats..........well, they eat whatever they can find. So, I think that I would prefer a good corn-fed squirrell.
