Blizzards are a sign of global warming...?

With this kind of logic you could say the planet would warm during an Ice Age. Look we are talking about 100 maybe even 1,000 year trends. No one knows. That being said, we should be good stewards of the planet. You can pick up an extra piece of trash at the lake to discard, recycle, install a catch basin for watering plants at your house. But we should not be forced to buy special light bulbs that are full of Mercury by the way, or some bogus carbon credits just to make the politicians special interest groups happy. It is so easy to see through all this BS. But some of you can't see the forest for the trees.

What you said is no different than a person saying they are fat because God wanted them to be. Complete BS. If you believe what you said you haven't been to the right places. Saying man cannot change the climate is both arrogant and Naive.

That's a very smart answer: A fat person is fat because God wanted them to be. Dude God doesn't control humans or what they do and say, if he did, then this would be heaven . My friend you're the naive person to really think that man can control climate. You must follow AL Gore. Some folks ask me " What's wrong with this world " ? I say nothing is wrong, it's the people in it that makes it seem that way. Oh for the record , I will give us snow tomorrow and I will not turn the Sun back on until Tuesday, I may even make it rain but just for a while only and I will also keep the temperature in the 30's for now...... emoLaugh

Cave men and their SUV'S. Thats the problem. Just joking around. I have no idea about this topic. I think both sides have good arguments.

Beetle Spin :No hard feelings I hope, just two man giving their opinion on a topic, that's all....... emoUSA

Opinion is what this entire debate is all about. The opinions of one group of scientists versus the opinions of another group. Both groups appear to have their own agenda which can skew the "facts"
I have been skeptical all along about man made global climate change for two reasons. First is my belief that man can only alter small parts of the world when viewed on the global scale. We as man screw up by cutting down the rain forests in South America but then the rain forests in other parts of the world experienced quadruple growth in the same time frame.
Secondly is the algore factor. He is the quintessential hypocrite. He spouts about fossil fuels causing global warming but his mansion in Tennessee relies on fossil fuels at a rate that is many times greater than most homes in the state.

Al Gore has done more harm to the Global Warming debate than good with his hypocrisy....but hes made boat-loads of money with the lies. emoUSA

IMO, global warming is just part of the earths natural cycle, just like global cooling. Weve only been keeping offical records of temps in the last century or so. I dont know how much impact man has on it, only God knows that for sure. Scientist can only make an educated guess. The problem I have with the whole global warming thing, is how it is being abused to make a few greedy people rich and give them more power and control over the average citizen. But man definately is the #1 cause of polution! Anything we can do as humanly possible to take better care of our earth, Im all for it! We only have one earth and we need to be good stewards. emoAngler

Yet many could care less that some company dump thousands of tons of pollutants in the air.

The cold weather in the United States is a relatively small event compared to the increase in temperatures of the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean. We can also see the long-term melting of glaciers in Europe, Antarctica, Greenland, Canada, South America, and the United States. The Arctic is very ice-free compared to the past decades. Ships can travel where they have not traveled.
It appears to me that we cannot lose by being careful with air pollution, for many reasons.

Being carful and wasteing millions of our tax dollars due to scare tactics is another.

I am neither for ar against these opinions because I dont know. I do know the weather is weird compared to 10 years ago, but couldnt this be just a trend that happens every so often? I mean, the weather database of climate records only goes back like 100 years. I do believe that poluttion has taken a toll on the atmosphere, but at the rate of temperature increase we are going in, it would take something like 100 years just to rise .5 degrees over all. I think it is a scare tactic for the "green" neo-hippies more than an actual threat. But I think that God is in control and it seems He has lifted the drought we have had the last 5 years lately. The earth always seems to purge and correct itself. Just my take and like I said, I really dont know. emoConfused
