looking for suggestions/options.

Ive been using WorldWide for a long time but the rates have gotten higher than i think they should be and i want to shop around. They currently have me with Progressive.

I deal with insurance companies all the time, Progressive is the absolute worst insurance company you could have when it comes to boats. Progressive is cheap because they don’t cover claims.

I use Safeco, Rates aren't bad and cover equipment in your boat also. Was with a different company for years and the Hooper insurance in Cleveland found them for me.

If you ever have to make a claim good luck with Progressive. State Farm has been great for us for a couple years now.

I have Progressive. Took out my lower unit. Took it to Fish N Fun the insurance guy was there the next day. Gave me a new lower unit. Only problem was he made them disassemble the old unit and show him the damaged parts after he had agreed to replacement. Took a lot of wasted time to do that.

Tennessee Farmers Mutual (Farm Bureau) They have insured everything for me for 35 plus years. Never a problem with a claim.

called a state farm agent, they said they wanted to insure for the price of replacement of a like year and model trailer & boat, not agreed value. i ended the call then

I know this is about boats, I've never had a boat claim but some others with Shelter Ins and they've been great been with them 30+ years, totaled one car and did $15,000 damage to a motor home once. I have a deck boat and a 4 person jet ski insured

I have travelers and they have been great. the one claim I have had they covered quickly for me. Now the guy that did the work, thats another story...I can tell you who not to use around here for fiberglass repair!!!

so after calling, emailing and getting quotes from just about every major boat insurance company, ive ended up with an agency that i met and heard of at the Ray Scott National Championship. RTOutdoors 765 761 4377

agreed value policy and they support the fishing community

after reading more of the details on the policy, tournament entry fee reimbursement, on and off the water towing coverage and $250 deductible on electronics, and half the price of Progressive..............we'll see

What is sad about ANY insurance is that you never really know if it is any good until you have to file a claim. And of course, you never want to have to file a claim because that means something bad has happened. Then if there's a problem with insurance, a bad thing simply becomes worse. It's almost a no-win situation.

I hope you never have to find out if they're good or bad.

You've already done your deal and that's good. But for future reference. I use BoatUS (insurance underwritten by Geico). Been with them a LONG time and unfortunately I have had to file three claims - damaged outboard lower unit, boat rear-ended on the highway and another boat (small jon boat) washed away in a flood (total loss).

In every case I can say my claims were handled quickly, efficiently and completely to my satisfaction.
