I am not a hot weather hunter. I had one of the guys that hunts where I do call me last night to see if I was going. He was all excited about the deer that they have been seeing. Too hot for me, I will wait and get one when it is colder. Did anyone go, see one or more, or better yet get one? Let's here the stories. emoSmile Jmax

Unfortunatley i am working this morning but my dad and a buddy that is on the lease with us killed two this morning. If you look at my post in the trail cam thread the 8 point was killed by our buddy and my dad killed a 6 point. i'm heading hunting this evening as soon as i get off!

Just got in form hunting up at Carters. Of course, season has been in for 2 weeks for us already. Didnt see squat...cept some tree rats

Dang, they sure did not waste any time. They killed "your" eight point? That sucks.....pictures? Did they take any pictures? You know we love pictures. emoAngel Jmax

My brother hunts in N. GA and said he saw 3 but they didn't want to come out into the kill zone. He also said he should have gotten an IV afterward because he was afraid he dehydrated from sweating so bad!

Took my 6 yr old with his crossbow and we saw 2 does but could not catch an opening to turn him loose with the trigger. My 11 yr old was hunting about 200 yards away with his bow and he saw several and missed a small buck. They were moving around us good this morning.

The only thing I saw this mornig was 2 guys hunting over our foodplots and all that we had worked on . They said they thought they were on the property that they were told they could hunt. Funny thing is as one of them walked past the trail cam this morning it took his picture and he disconnected the battery on it and broke on of the hinges that holds the door shut. Whats so funny is he said it wasn't him but a picture is worth a thousand words . lol

Well I got the news yesterday evening that they were unable to find the big 8 it kills me knowing that a big deer like that is probably dead and going to waste. They tracked him for about 4 hrs and the blood trail finally ran out. Although my dad did find the 6 point and I killed a 5 point right before dark yesterday I have pictures of both but I'm on my blackberry right now so I will post pics later.

Shot at one doe and missed her and saw a six point and a doe with some fawns.....All when not actually trying to hunt. Just standing around the house. When I tried I found nothing...Weird huh?

If you are hunting private property and those two Azzez are on your food plot. Catch them in there and back without being seen and call the game warden. Have your trail cam pics to prove they broke your camera as well. They may get to buy you a new camera. "Real jerks." Youneed to get them out of there before gun season. </p>

If you put in food plots on public accessed land you will need to get in your spot before they get there. </p>

I guess I am just being mean with this one but if you can not get rid of them and they seemhostel, abandon all your work and find another spot to hunt. But first buy several boxes of moth balls and cover your food plot and be sure to add a little at the trees they are using. "Scerw the Jerks."</p>

First morning for me this AM. Saw a very nice Buck and a unidentified deer. Too far away for a shot. Heardbleatingand a grunt but a no show on those deer.</p>

I will tell you guys this, "You must hunt near drinking water right now are you arewastingyour time." It is oh so dry out there right now. We need rainbadly.</p>

Congrats there C Garson. Got some meat to go in the freezer so are you going to go hunting for the big ones now? I usually let the young one walk after shooting one for the freezer. Thanks for sharing. emoThumbsup Jmax

Congrats to all you guys sticking the deer! Too hot for my fat keister to get in a tree-stand, but fall is about to come in, may break out the bow after-all.

yep no more young buck usually get one for the freezer early then maybe a doe the opening weekend of muzzleloader but i'll only draw back on an ole big un now!

It was nice and cool up at our place both mornings. But I'll blame our lack of seeing deer on a very bright full moon and an absolute ton of freaking dropping acorns. It may be tough to get a good one until these nuts quit dropping a little.
