Wow...nice fish. I was up at the the nuke towers myself yesterday but got there about the time the "big" cat was being landed. I was wondering why so many boats were all next to each other. I never got close enough to see what was going on but I wish I had been a little more nosey. I overheard the story from the guy that had the scales telling someone else later. My only fish story from yesterday was that a catfish got sweet revenge with one of my red jello weanies. Besides taking the bait...it took my rod and reel right over the boat as I had my back turned. I couldn't believe it. I've never had that happen and it was my best rod and reel for catfish also. It was about a 35 year old Ambassador 5000 reel that my dad had used at one time. I wish it had got one of my newer rods and reels instead of that one...grrrr. I'm still cussin' that cat and especially myself for being so...stupid ! I saw the end of it for a brief second and I guess I should have dove in but I think I was in a temporary state of shock. I imagine it's in about 50 feet of water somewhere around the main channel now with some huge cat dragging it around...he-he. I'm sure someone one will latch on to it someday by chance. The best cat out of about 15-20 for me and Ms. Muskrat was a little over 10 pounds. I saw quite a few cats being taken by about every boat and saw a 22 pounder someone had caught. I never could really get into my favorite spots most of the day as it was pretty crowded. The white bass are still in the jumps up there but didn't seem to be quite as active as they have been. Good luck everyone and hang on to those fishin' rods !
Muskrat .... enjoying my 48th birthday today. emoParty
