Mandolin .. I don't think the discussion about the smell is fishy .. hahah no pun intended .. its what it smells LIKE that has me in confusion. I mean .. I have honeysuckles ... does it smell like that .. or is it the mixture of old leather baseball gloves, molases, and whatever else was said about it. Anyway ... I just need to find someone who knows ... and go see for myself.

That was my only point .. not that the actual subject is a falsehood. Thanks!

Gotcha, Ok, when I smell it I immediately picture some low country river with Spanish moss hanging the trees and a shoeless kid with a straw hat and overalls fishing with a cane pole in the lazy, darkly stained water. When you smell THAT you got it...hehehe.

I agree. You can find pan fish beds by smell. I can drive by on 58 and tell you when panfish are bedding in the lake. I guess it is just something some people can do. It IS kind of a combination of "fishy" smell and a "swampy" smell. We used to ride the bus home and us boys would go fishing lots of times based on the smell wafting in the window (we didn't have air condition on buses in those days! Imagine!!! What was the school board thinking! Yet some how we lived!)emoGeezer

FYI to TT, BB, and Carol-

The secret hole always has a peculiar odor to it. Especially when Why and I have been there for a few minutes, but I don't think there is any correlation.

I have about decided that Mr. Why and When are very similare to Mr.Whywhen the bass that TT and BB caught. It was very attractive on the service but when it was revealed out of the water it was very small and dissapointing. Seems like those two have a lot to say with the corndogs and all on how they tear them up but I would sure like to put them to the test on the CFF5.emoBigsmile Here we are on the home lake and got 27 boats registered to fish and where is When and Why?????emoScratch No where to be found!!!! Come on guys let's put some weight where the mouth is and see what you can bring to the scales.emoPoke Jmax

I'm working on it. Although the secret hole only seems to be good between 9:00pm and 12:00. I'm serious.
