We fished a club tournament out of Harrison Bay today. We headed to our first spot but a friend of ours that owns an Allison beat us to it. Oh well we head to our second spot. We start catching fish right off the bat. I think the rain helped this spot. We are fishing shallow wood. Not our first choice but it is working. We caught fish on worms and other assorted plastics. I did catch a couple of fish around the shallow wood on a Scum Frog. I like that bait. We wear this area out and move to another spot. This spot is a ledge near the river channel. I catch a good keeper on the first cast. A couple of minutes later Blake sets the hook and the fight is on. He thinks it is big but probably a catfish. I look at the line and I tell him that is a head shake not a body roll. It rolls up beside the boat. I can tell it is a good bass but I didnt get a good look because of the rain. It makes a few runs and we get it in the net. I figured it weighed 7.25 lbs. Blake is now on the back deck doing a dance. It sort of looked like Mike the Ike trying to dance like Micheal Jackson. emoLaugh He needs to work on his celebration dance. A couple of minutes later I catch another good fish on a Shakey Head. We move again. This spot doesnt pay off. We decide to see if our first spot is freed up now. We run back to the spot and no one is there. We cull another fish on the Shakey Head. We catch a few more keepers that wont help. We decided to give the shallow wood pattern another try, since it is still raining. Blake catches a couple fish on a creature bait. I pick up a top water lure and bam. We cull again. Couple of casts later another fish. We cull again. That was all the culling we did today. We probably caught 4 or 5 limits of keepers today. I dont have any idea how many fish we caught but my thumbs are sore. Our best five weighed 18.5 lbs and the big fish weighed 6.95 lbs. It wasn't that great but we did finish first and Blake had big fish. It was a great day on the water and the sun came out just in time for the weigh in. Man I had a blast today. We caught fish in 2 ft. to 22 ft. of water today. It didnt seem to matter as long as your bait was in or on the water.

Can't beat that!!!! emoApplause Got to spend quality time on the water and win a tournament all in one. emoThumbsup Jmax

Bullet tj get one or follow one

I love the Allison boats but I think my Bullet is easier to fish out of. I am getting old so the speed thing is not important. I have owned this motor and boat setup for two years now and I have never had the boat wide open. I get a thrill out of watching a Allison running flat out up the lake.

With all the Txs this last weekend and dogfights and to come in with that kind of weight is great. You got to love catching fish all day.

WTG Blake on big fish!! Catfish huh emoPoke I guess bass can roll with the best of them as well as jump and head shake! Congrats on taking first guys! You have me fired up now! emoToast

Good job to each of you! Now I know for a fact you have aired that thing out once or twice....

Thanks for the report and keep up the good work.

Oh yeah, you know Vinnie is gonna get there firstemoDanceits an ALLISON>>>> but you sound like you did well where you was at. Good job to all!

That was my other Bullet you rode in. If I remember correctly we slung an ear off on your side of the boat. emoPoke I am a little older now and this motor is a little faster than I want to go. Things didnt go like we had planned but we won and we had a blast catching fish. We were complaining about catching keepers that wouldn't help us cull. emoScratch I told Blake that I would usually be pumped about catching this fish. Just goes to show ya. No matter how good a day is going, a fisherman is usually wanting it to be better. Thanks Guys. If you see a bright Red and Gold Bullet on the lake stop and say hi.
