Fishing a buzzbait lately. I lost my white skirt yesterday ( no jokes please ). I looked some of my soft plastics over and stuck a Reel Shad Cane Thumper on...success ! I caught a bass on my third cast and one about twenty minutes later -- nothing big. What I liked about it with both fish was the instant sold hook-up with the exposed hook compared to a lot of the blow-ups you get with topwater lures. I can tell I'm going to have fun experimenting with soft plastic "kicker" type lures also like small Rage Tails, etc. as long as they aren't too heavy to weigh it down. Always fun using new techniques to catch a fish.

I do that out of necessity. Most of my spunnerbait and buzzbaits skirts are missing! It does work.

Give the zoom horny toad a try, I think you'll like it.

also try using a straight tail bait like a fluke or jerky jay. big curly tail grub will work too. just play with each and let the fish tell you what they want that certain day
