Cabela’s no longer honoring lifetime guarantee

Cabela’s is no longer honoring the life time guarantee on their line of products. I had a rod that broke when I set the hook on a fish. This was the first time I had fished with the rod since it was only a few months old. According to Cabela’s the merge with bass pro has caused them to rewrite their policy on the gaurantee. They swapped the rod but said it would no longer be covered for any defects in the future.

Sports Academy will bend over backwards to help when you bring them problem and I bet they replace rods too if bought there.

That’s troubling to know. That’s one reason I still shopped them. I had a Cabela’s rod on a Black Max combo break on a cast after a couple of weeks. Sounds like they may have quality issues too. Well, Dr. Detroit was telling me I needed to upgrade the equipment I was buying...

I had 3 of those rods break. I wound up just getting my money back on all three after it was said and done.

After contacting cabelas cs about this issue, I won't ever do business with them again.
One of the reasons why I bought my guide wear xtreme rain suit was for the lifetime warranty.

Yes I called the customer service number after I was told this in store. Very disappointing.

I had a St.Croix rod over twenty years old. They replaced it for a $55 charge. It was a premier rod with a one year warranty.

Yeah thats what st.croix quoted my father in law for his st criox premier. But that is for a st. criox rod, not a cabelas brand.....I think this issue is with the cabbalas brand stuff.

Worst thing to ever happen to a great Brand. I still cannot believe they sold out to BS.
