it was kind of stormy today, with the front passing through, and my partner was out fishing......

he reached down and picked up a 7'9" carrot stick and it shocked him bad enough that he couldnt hold on to it.....
he then reached back down and picked it up again and it got him again... after the 3rd time, he just left it on the deck of the boat and picked up another rod. he, and i both have a boat load of carrot sticks, and he said all the other ones worked fine, but all the rest are smaller ones. i have never had this happen to me. but when he got back to weigh in, someone else in the club said he had the same thing happen to him, when asked what size the rod was he said it was 7'9".

have any of you heard of this happening, kinda freaked me out a little... wonder what would cause that rod to be any different from one of their 7'ers. emoScratch

That would freak me out too. I have never been shocked by a fishing rod. I was fishing yesterday with two other people. They were not using Carrot Sticks and I was. It was storming a little, and my rod would sizzle a little when I raised mine. Theirs would not. I thought that was a little odd, but did not think much about it, There might be something to this the more I think about it.

Those are the Skeet Reese rods most likely. I wonder if they are made out of the same stuff as the carrot Sticks?

Fished with my dad last year and he had the same thing happen with his carrot stck. he was using a buzzbait and got to where he could hardly hold it. He haned me the rod and within a couple cast it zapped me to. There was bad weather around us that day but none of my rods ever done it.

Run a wire from your radio to your carrot stick, and see if it gets better reception. emoScratch If you feel really adventurous bring it in to the kitchen and nuke some leftovers in the microwave. But before you turn on the the microwave write down on a piece of paper who you are and what you were doing along with a few emergency contact phone numbers, the radiation the carrot stick catches might force you to pee your pants and forget who you are.
