The catalytic converter was surgically removed from my 4Runner in the Memorial Hospital Parking lot yesterday. When I cranked up my truck I thought someone had installed a ramped up version of FlowMaster!

CPD told me these were going for 200 bucks on the street.

What will they do next? If this level of crime continues, I may have to move back to Memphis!

Anybody else heard of this?

someone stole the catalytic converter off this girls car at lowes in kimball, while she was working.my daughter works there and said they checked the security tape, they could see someone walking off with it much couldnt make an id on the person.he parked at another location so they didnt know what he was driving.she said the police told them that they were going for $150 around here.

Just pisses me off! I hope the guy(s) that did this will be put in jail for some long time. It's probably not going to happen though. Mainly because nobody is going to catch him.</p>

Sorry to hear about that.If your not too worried about getting an OEM replacement i highly recommend you check out either Summit or Jegs catalogs.I got a Magnaflow high flow cat for my car when i put the exhaust on i wanna say it was about $60-$80 they are universal you just have to know what diameter ur exhaust is.Shipping is really quick too.Just a thought.Hope those guys get caught.

I hate that for ya. Apparently there's nothing a thief won't take. Hard to imagine them crawling under a vehicle and cutting it off without someone noticing.

Last Friday I went out to my truck and found out I had be relieved of $350 cash plus change. Police didn't even come out. They phoned me at work later in the day to do the report.

I hope they all get caught.

Thought I'd pass it on that three converter thieves were caught in our area the other day. The guy that broke in my truck was also caught.

Don't know if it's the same ones that stole yours but maybe it'll help some knowing they have to make bail and appear in court.

They had a story on this a couple weeks ago on the news. They said the thieves are targeting trucks and suv's because they sit higher up and they are easier to get to.

hl&s, those are probably the same people that cut out all the copper out of the a/c units that were changed out at Jasper Middle school. There is NOTHING they won't take. Right in the middle of the day. My wife is a manager at Lowes in Kimball. She told me about the one over there.... that's just sad.... Hope they can get you some repayment. Might take a few years.
