We had 39 boats brave the cold and blustery conditions to start our 2013 season. I guess many thought the fish would have lockjaw with the weather change. WRONG. We weighed-in our largest and 3rd largest bass in the seven year history of CATCH. We also had our largest three fish limit. We stopped recording big fish weights after the HAWG was weighed in, but I believe we had six fish over 8lbs weighed in with three of them being over 9 lbs. You can only imagine all the little ones brought to the scales. Below are the official results.

1st place Nic Pratt / Daniel Geren 22.38lbs and big fish 9.85lbs LM
2nd place Brian Gladson / Jim Kimsey 18.40 lbs
3rd place Corey Painter / Joe Burns 15.11lbs
4th place Greg Henry / Mike Varnell 14.54lbs
5th place Ryan Phelps / Elmer Taylor 14.45lbs
6th place Jamie Tanksley / Jeff Moore 14.33lbs
7th place Matt Jenkins / Jon Mantooth 14.14 lbs
Big Smallmouth Bobby Copeland (solo) 5.00lbs
Big Trash Fish Aaron Maddox / Randall Maddox 16.22lbs Drum
No spots weighed in

Congrats to Nick and Geren for a really great three fish limit. emoEek What a way to start. Now if those two didn't blow their fish yesterday now they need to repeat that for this coming weekend's Nickol's Marine Inc. CBA. emoThumbsup I am really getting excited about this one. It may be a record setter for the CBA. The way our lake is fishing right now any record could be in trouble of being broken. Even the state's record bass could be in trouble. If you can't fish it you should try and make the weigh in if nothing else. It is at 4:00 at Chester on this coming Saturday so come on out to watch. emoToast Jmax

As always, Kevin, Cory and the rest of the Catch guys put together a great tournament. Had a blast. Fish bit pretty good for the most part. The wind and temps were brutal. Congrats again to the winners. Nic and Daniel put it on us. Jmax is right next weekend should be a shootout.

Congrats to all that fished Saturday......if you fished and made it through the (beautiful) weather.....you did well....lol. Congrats to the winners! All in all i think everyone won, it was a well planned tourny with zero accidents that i am aware of. Safe and secure after it all!!!

See you at the next one!
