Forgot to say, I think that your not suppose to go into those "garages" with your boat. Some do and I have before but I thought I would tell you that. And always have your life vest on after passing the bridge, I hear they like to write citations around there. Its just a short cast from the front of the concrete "garages" to the back.

Thanks for the great info whisler11! I have caught a few blues down there myself closer to the turbines and have noticed other boats taking longer drifts in the past - I'll try that drift next time I'm down there looking for cats. I don't eat them either but I think they are a fine species to target in our river system.

fishing the Wheeler dam face can be very productive for blues(water on or off)....and according to a guide i use, April is a good time to catch really nice flatheads against the dam(live bream on a 3/way)

hahaha. I try to look at the positive side. There were 3 other boats that caught less than me, AND if I'd only had 147 more pounds of fish I'd have tied for first.

Slo-Ride you are barking up my tree now... I love flatheads... awesome fight and the tastiest Tennessee River fish that swims (my opinion Crappie lovers) emoLaugh
