.... sigh .... I was wondering how long until anyone pointed out the LAW that to KILL more than one over 34" per day was a violation. And what a total waste and disregard of My/Our natural resources ... I hope all this is total Bull-schiet.</p>

Next I hope someone comes on here and brags about killing fifty Turkeys from the roost with Spotlights and a Bow. I hear they have a photo of a thirty-five lb Hen.. I have not seen it but they say ...</p>

Man just for some advice, this is a great place to learn and that is a great cat in the picture no doubt, all feelings aside that cat looks like it weighs 45 - 50 lbs which is an awesome catch, but a world away from 100 lbs. I dont want you to get upset at those on the board, but your tangling with the big boys on here ,most if not all have landed 70 lb plus fish. A 100 lb fish is a 1 in a million and on this site I can only remember one that was at a 100 lbs and if I remember correctly after being reweighed it was 99 lbs from wheeler dam. A 100 lb catfish would have a head dang near 2 feet wide and be around 5 feet long and to hold him you would have to sit down and hold him like a golden retriever not out like a smaller fish. Please dont get mad at those caling BS because between 6 of the people posting you have a combined fishing experience of over 200 years and and 198 of those are from Eric M. emoPoke JK Eric But in all honesty you have to post pics of these cats for true respect. I hope you are right, but all my friends bow fish too and they have shot some big fish some as big as 50 lbs but there again that is leaps and bounds away from 100. So dig up the pics and post em and if the scales are off or you misjudged thats fine, but remember on here without pictures a story is just a story without the pics to prove it.

I said CLOSE TO 100 POUNDS. I have never shot a fish that was 100lbs. I have come pretty close, but still at least ten pounds away. I was lucky enough to be in the Guntersville bowfishing tournament in 1998,… or it may have been 99, when I shot my biggest cat to record, and I have had several over 80 lbs. Not gunna say what it weighed, because I'm sure their “certified” scales weren’t accurate either, and they are all a bunch of liars, some big scandal I'm sure. You guys are hilarious. Seriously.
Haha, if you think you can judge a fish better than someone who has been elbow deep in thousands, you got bigger problems than ego. I have no ego,… just pride of my fishing carreer.
I have one mounted that is original skin mount 82lbs. A catfish skin mount will only last a max of 20 years because of the oils in a catfish, and then will slowly start deteriorating. The others were molded from the original fish, with sand and fiberglass, which means I can’t prove I caught them. Now if you wanna talk bass, brem, crappie, rockfish, gar, trout or whatever, I got you beat…. Don’t even try. Most of my near 8pound smallies were caught when I was 6-9 years old, and dad finally let me take the canoe down the little Chickamauga creek for days on end by myself. Why am I bragging??? Yall bring out the worst in my pride hahaha.
And by the way, I have fished more in 23 years than most 60 year olds. I only go 7 days a week, always have always will.
Now about my photos. The only reason I have that photo of the carp is because It was in the paper, and the pic of the catfish was took three or four nights ago with my cell phone. I only have two photos of me bowfishing, mabe three, and they are nothing special. The photo’s I have taken of the catfish that were big, are somewhere around my dads or my spray booth, because I like to look at the original fish for accurate color when painting a mount. I have fished for everything, all over the world, and since my dad is always mounting 10 foot sharks, and 300 pound cats from all over the world,… I don’t really get worked up over anything from around here… except smallmouth, crappie, and sauger. BUT ITS OBVIOUS you guys do. So just to make you feel better, lets just say my biggest cat is 25 lbs, because if I can’t find the pics, (or there aren’t any) then I must be a pathological liar. Believe what you want, I'm goin fishin. And yes I know its 2AM

I am really shocked that as Benny hull's nephew you would come on the board and post these outlandish stories. Your either a serious dreamer, and I use that term lightly, or worse, a criminal hell-bent on destroying the natural resources for pleasure, and of course a paycheck from a bow TX.

You admited you break game and fish regs already in your post, its clear you take over your limit of catfish. EVEN IF you were telling the truth about that, why would any sportsman, especially someone with your families names on it, be so proud of something like this??

This is by far one of the best Bull---t storys Ive ever herd he deserves an award for just for that my op.

What Spurhunter said. I've been following this thread for sometime now and have been amazed. 100 lb cats are very, very rare. To catch one and let it go would be an honor a once in a lifetime deal. To shoot one is just ridiculous, bow hunter or not. There is a difference between sportsmanship and wanton killing and waste. I'd be as outraged about something like this as I would the ding dongs that thinking shooting a bald eagle is cool. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should. I hope TWRA isn't reading this thread for your sake, because you have admitted to several violations.

Some of you guys get to wound up to tight for your own good. I don't know the kid and but I also don't see where he has said anything that enough proof to accuse him of breaking the legal limit of catfish. A lot of feelings getting hurt here over assumption. But hey that's what the internet is for, right?

I used to be a regular member of a woodworking forum where from time to time someone would post something totally outlandish just to raise the hackles of the regular participants. We called these posts "Trolls", since they were obviously just trolling bait. I hope that this is what we have in this thread, because the only other options I can come up with is that the initiator is either just acting young and foolish and doesn't know any better than to kill true once in a lifetime fish just because he can, or one other option that is best left unstated.

LOTS of info here Chris so I can see how you might have missed it. </p>

It was asked: "So how many cats, say over 20lbs do you typicaly shoot in a night? Or are they all smaller, with a few pigs throw in each night?"</p>

His answer, at 2:47AM on 4-27-12: "On an average, we shoot five to eight cats over 20, and could probably shoot more."</p>

A clear violation of fishing regulations of trophy catfish in TN OR AL. </p>

Naw I saw that post, I just don't see it as a clear violation. You said night and he didn't clarify if that was per night or per year like his 100lbs were listed. Especially considering that nobody thinks his estimates are on ;-) Besides a 20 lb cat can be well under 34", can't it? I'd venture to guess that a 34" cat could be anywhere from 20-30 lbs, what do you think?

Not trying to defend him or insult anyone, I just don't see clear enough evidence to crucify the kid. Plus when I go bowfishing I don't go alone so I'd venture to guess that there are 2-4 fishermen in the boat so that would increase the number of 34" fish allowed to 2-4. The regulations are based on length not weight right?

34" cats start about 18lbs, Ive never seen a 20lb that was not 34'. No way, since by his account, he fishes 5-7 nights a week, that 5-8 people are in his boat every night. Shooting some game fish is legal, shooting them and tossing them in the trash is not, its wanton waste, and its pretty clear thats what hes doing.

However he meant it...he started off by saying he shoots several 100 lb fish. Then he went so far as to insult everyone on this forum by saying that he "outfishes" them . The way I see it .. He came across very arrogant to say the least...and where he could have got some good info from CFF now he has just insulted a bunch of folks who are not gonna share any info at all with him. I have taken many people fishing and shared everything I know with them.... Why ? Because they asked and I was glad to share . That's the way I was treated and that's what I give back to people who like to learn. I learn something new every time I go fishing with someone. I don't expect mr. Hull will be invited to go fishing with many who have read this post!!

Ahhh LOL LMFAO!!! !!! I just saw the 100lb cat lmfao!!!!!!!!!! emoLaugh emoLaugh emoToast Way to go buddy nice fish emoThumbsup

"and since my dad is always mounting 10 foot sharks, and 300 pound cats from all over the world,… I don’t really get worked up over anything from around here"</p>

Then I must ask... Why the drive to fish 7 out of 7, 365 around here???</p>

I know the Hulls ... Chip off the old block or the nuts don't fall far from the tree.... LOL</p>

I just got my photos back from the drug store. They ran out of paper trying to print this photo....</p>

This is a photo of the catfish I caught in my Zebco last weekend at Lake Junior. It took eight of us four hours to get it loaded on the truck. And I am having it mounted</p>
