Hey FF the next time you see a TWRA guy ask him for his card and it will have his cell number I do belive. I had one earlier in the year, but naturally it's gone now. Post any numbe you come up with or anyone else that has a quick number. good luck, I'll do what I can also.

About how much does a 34" catfish weigh? According to the above posts they may have been legal. I think I saw where there were 6 people jug fishing and 6 cats 45-60 lbs harvested. The post also said "a handful of 10-15 pounders". Can a 15 pounder be 34"? As long as the 6 fishermen all had licenses wouldn't that have been a legal catch?

Good question - I'm not sure what weights are typically associated with 34" fish. My biggest cat was 48" at 60+ pounds...it's the only one I ever measured as I'm not big fish eater and release all the cats I land. There is a formula posted on CFF using length and girth as inputs to approximate weight. I think it is weight = (length x length x girth) ÷ 1,200.

My undertsanding is that one fish per angler can be harvested per day over 34" so I think the 6 anglers jug fishing would have been legal if they only had six over 34" and had their licenses. However, on a separate occasion listed above, FishnFool witnessed 14 potentially oversized cats being iced down at the ramp.

Oh, ok. I overlooked fishnfools post trying to figure all that other stuff out. Back to trying to figure out how to put a trailer hook and rattle in a corn dog.

Man I hate to see that going on. I want my kids to be able to enjoy catching these bigs ones as they grow up. I know there are a lot catfish at the nuke, but you can't be taking that many big ones out of there on a regular basis. Too Tall and i will be out there tommorrow and I've already put that number im my phone. conservation is the key boys! C-Horse
