This is no way reflection on any President or Board Member. I am simply calling out the violations I witnessed Sunday. We start the Tourney with an announcement that some teams were witnessed to culling fish at the ramp. This is a clear rules violation. The rules state that all culling should be done directly after catching the 6th fish. No one should have a sixth fish in the boat to cull later. It is illegal to cull any fish that dies in your possession. Also coming into the ramp for weigh in I witnessed a couple boats come in on plane with contestants without life jackets. Clearly a rules violation. There was also one angler who walked their fish up to the scale from the far dock in a Mesh Weigh in bag in other words dry. Look the rules are there for everyone's benefit. I would like to see this cleaned up a little. Have some integrity and do the right thing it matters...</p>

I saw the guy who had the fish in the mesh bag, I mentioned they had correct bags to use he just gave me a blank stare. He brought those fish all the way from the far dock where his boat was in the water. The culling at the ramp should be an immediate disqualification.

The CBA, and any other tournament organization must police itself. I know the officers are really busy in the moments leading up to the weigh in, so if rules are being broken they need to be addressed on the spot by any members who witness it. That doesnt mean it has to be done in a confrontational way. Also, as far as fish care goes; the CBA always welcomes novice anglers to participate. Its up to all members and officers to help to educate new comers on how to properly handle the fish. If a guy is carrying fish in a mesh, he probably doesnt know any better, and an offer to help him out probably goes farther than a scholding.

I totally agree with a lot that has been said here. Self policing is absolutely the best method. Also, if you expect us to do something or DQ somebody which we as officers will do if we have concrete evidence of rule violations and also exactly who it was that broke the rule. Not just in this case but in a lot cases I will have somebody come up to me and say there was a mostly white boat and I don't exactly remember what kind of boat I think it had TN stickers on it. We can't do anything with info like that. Andy, I'm not picking on you with this but literally every tournament I will have someone come up and tell me about a life jacket situation but I don't know who the boat is...

I agree I wasn't going to protest them. I just wish the guys would realize its important to play by the rules. I didnt know who they where. Maybe just some announcements like the one about culling. Im not going to protest someone unless its a blatant rule violation that would change the outcome of the tourney. Mostly I would watch for fish violations like the culling thing. I would protest that in a heartbeat.

Having 6 fish(bass) in the well is a state law violation not just a CBA rules violation

By state law it 10 fish in the boat for 2 anglers (5 each).

This is one reason why you need to get state vessel registration numbers on Every sign up application- so we can get the numbers off the violators boats. Also, someone carrying fish to the scales in a net bag should be immediately dq'd. It is not just the O2 risk of killing the fish , the net abrasion will wear the slime coat off the fish and kill them. Just ask Aaron Martens. I also think a livewell check should be mandatory for each boat as soon as it is loading out, as well as a spotter on the docks looking for violations. That will for sure fix the culling and dead fish issues. I'll never forget a big name CBA contestant who denied me access to the back of a big slough in my 1st ever, CBA. I was uncertain of the rule at the time so I didn't protest it. Also didn't know who it was and didn't think to get the boat numbers. This is also why boat numbers should be mandatory on the sign up app!

If you didn't know who it was how did you know it was a big time CBA guy.

Its a small community here. I've made friends in and around the CBA and have discribed the boat and individual to them and immediately got a name. Then verified for myself who it was. Thats how. Plus this person knows my name. He knows a friend of mine whom he has seen me fish with, and asked him if my name was ??. Probably seen me weigh in. I can assure that if this or any violation ever occurs again I will have photo or video proof and will act accordingly. I was so infuriated, I didn't think to take a photo. I returned 2 hours later and they were still blocking access so I spoke out and reminded them of the 50 yard rule. Then, he put his rod down and stomped his foot down like a child and said "but it just the point"! I proceeded to take charge and just trolled in over their lines. Now, it is water under the bridge and just a bad memory.

Ol GAfisherman let me come into a little slough last year in a CBA after I asked and was also nice enough to let me watch them catch the winning bag. Lol.

Why would you even wanna go into the back of a slough with another person anyways. If you had to ask that means you were to close to begin with. Just my opinion
