Its hard to believe that we have only one regular season event left. It has been a really fun year for me this year. Being the president of the trail has allowed me to get to know a lot of you guys over the course of the year which I have really enjoyed.

I am really excited about the classic this year. It is going to be bigger than it has been in recent memory. We still have some sponsor money that we are collecting but it looks like we are going to be able to pay out at least $5,000 more than we did last year and twice as many teams don't have to pay an entry fee and will fish the classic for free. Also the winner of the classic will qualify for the Team Championship and a chance to fish in the 2015 BassMaster Classic.

When you sign up next week please make sure and vote. You will be voting on two officer positions. The President and the Westside rep.

For President you will be voting for either myself, Shane Frazier the current CBA President or Allen Lewis. For Westside rep you will be voting for either Dusty Elrod or Tracey Penney.

I believe that we have had a really good year this year, and would appreciate your support. I believe we have great momentum going into next year to make it even bigger and better.

This year I set out to accomplish a couple of things in my 1st year as President.

1. Put as much money as possible back into the pockets of the fisherman. I previously spoke about the Classic payout. We increased sponsorship money by more than $10K this year. We also had the opportunity to win $100K during February and March, and we also have 8 members that will represent the CBA at the Team Championship for a shot at fishing in the Bassmasters Classic.

2. Conservation- The person running against me for President claims he is running because of all of the mid season rule changes. There has only been 1 mid season rule change and that was when we went from 2 dead fish to 1, and all officers voted on this and it was unanimously voted to change. Guys, if I don't get re-elected because of this rule I'm ok with that. What I'm not ok with is knowing I haven't done everything within my power to preserve the wonderful resource we have been blessed with. We implemented a state of the art pure Oxygen release system that has dramatically reduced fish mortality. In the last tournament we didn't have a single fish die after it was weighed-in.

I look forward to seeing everyone out for our last tournament next Saturday, October 4th and don't forget to vote when you sign up.

Well said Shane! I commend you and the rest of the officers for the hard work you guys have put into the CBA this year! You have done an exceptional job with the tournament and getting new sponsors and adding money to make the tournament better. You have my vote!!

Shane you did a great job this year and you are not going to make everybody happy. Thanks for all you and the other officers have done this year.

its time to bring in allen lewis bring back the old rules so everyone that fishes the classic can aleast make some of there money back not the 30 percent of the fishermen

Ed, 1st of all 30% isn't the payback. We will pay half the field in the classic which is 50%, and the goal is to pay last place in the money $1,000. And the top 50 teams don't have to pay the entry fee to fish the classic. In years past it has been the top 25 only that gets free entry fee. You have a 1 in 2 shot of getting a check and most in the field are fishing for free. Last year 15th place got $500.00 and last place got $300.00. The guy that finished last put it on the trailer at lunchtime day 1 because he didn't have anything and didn't even fish the second day but came to pick his check up at weigh-in Sunday and eat the dinner provided by Tow Boat. In my opinion that isn't fair to the guy that finished 15th.

For the record that is what you may want but not the majority of the fisherman. When we made this change last off season every officer voted for it and I talked with over 30 of the members and all but 2 were in favor of the change.

I don't know of another year end Classic out there that you have a 1 in 2 shot of getting a check for a grand, and 2/3 of the field didn't have to pay an entry fee.

I think you have done a great job this year,I like most of the rule changes? Fish can die, even if you do everything to prevent it. Deep fish, or hocked deep, exc. I belive 2 dead fish should be the rule. Realy like both of you guys, Maybe we need two presidents, splet the work load? Just a thought, I really am thank full of the hard work all the offices do.
Very well Run Tournament trail. Thanks for the hard work.

Ed always has to start something . A few years ago he was talking about the number of dead fish . There is always room for help in the back with the release ranks and I'm pretty sure he was invited to help but he didn't . Shane had to do something about the amount of dead fish and I think it was a good decision that's why I agreed with it .

Seems to me, from what I've seen, that Shane made changes that really helped. There may have been a dogging post about a month ago where I was mis taken but I will say again...the changes implemented this year helped! The dead fish I witnessed was no where NEAR what it was years ago. Ed...you even bitched over 10 dollars and a t shirt one year.

Shane you have my vote! You did a hell of a job and you'll never make everyone happy. You and all the officers involved have worked your butts off this year and we all (well most) appreciate it.

Cba has been absolutely phenomenal this year, not bashing any of the former presidents by no means..........but who'd ever imagine you could get a shot a Van Dam through cba!!! Nobody ever thought about it i guarantee well except Shane Frazier!!!!! That in itself is just shy of a miracle in my opinion!!! About the classic pay......a few years back my team finished 32nd. We were 12th after day one then I go out and catch a fish on the first cast like an idiot, always bad luck for me. I usually throw 20' if that, and real in just not to catch one on the first cast. Fog delay til 11.30 had me anxious and well we only put two fish in the well and dropped to 32nd place which paid the exact same as last which was around 75th!! Quite frankly that sucked!! My teams efforts far exceeded 75th which didn't prolly even have a fish and that didn't set well with me at all. Of course I got over it fairly quick but I definitely see why everyone voted for it to be the way that it is this year. Everyone gets a chance to win all of their money back in classic. Finish in top half of field and you've won all your entry fee money back plus some. Now if your wanting money given to you then you should contact our government, keep being lazy, and tryin to collect checks cause your content with collecting a workin man's hard earned money!!!!!!

Oh btw thanks Shane and all of our officers, it's been a fantastic cba season and my best one ever to boot. Classic is gonna be awesome and I can't wait to throw a bubble gum king daddy scent spitting toadzilla!!!!

It really amazes me that someone would want to pay the 240 entry fee for the classic just to show up and make 60. Makes no sense, just go spend two hours during the week after work donating plasma and you can get your 60 bucks. This way you want be in my way cause I'm fishin for first not last!!!!!!!!!!

Shane, I think this year was the best season CBA has had since I've been involved. More insight & responsible ideas & rule modifications have been needed. As tournament fishermen we need to be the most aware of fish care & don't need to be weighing in dead fish. I think the changes to classic payout & upping the number who qualify for no entry fee are great!

I am just happy to see anyone want to do it. After being an officer for a couple years I learned real quick that it is no picnic. Lots of work goes into putting them together and keeping them going all year. emoWorthy Getting one free entry per month does not even cover your expenses for doing it. emoCrazy I have seen less dead fish at the weigh in this year that is for sure, I do hope that they are not just being released earlier right before they die and floating up out on the lake. emoScratch All in all it was a very good year and seemed to go very well with the exception of the web sight which did seem to have issues this year staying up to date on time and not having all the pictures posted for all the months. With this year under your belts on doing it this next one will be easier with that experience. emoThumbsup Jmax

I don't fish CBA's but have lots of friends who do and I've heard nothing but great things from this season. I think you guys have a great thing going. Keep up the good work !

Fact:

There will always be haters out there.

The CBA will continue to be on the top of the list of best team tournament trails out there.

Shane......It has been a great experience working along side you as an officer this year. I know if any other person were president none of the incentives for this year would have been possible. Shane has put a lot of time and effort into making these programs work. There are not to many people (including me) that would have put half the time into doing what he has done. Nothing against Allen Lewis, but I think it would be a stupid decision to change the presidents after such an awesome year....We will have 8 of our CBA members with a shot at going to the Bassmaster's Classic. I never thought that would have been a Reality, Shane for President HANDS DOWN!!!!!

Awesome job this year Shane! I think the changes made to the classic are absolutely terrific. Half the teams that fish, win a grand! Name any other tournaments where the last place guy gets a check because he fished some other tournaments, sounds ridiculous to me. I thought it was terrible when you could pay $220 to enter the classic (if you didn't qualify for free entry), and win $300 guaranteed. JMTC though.
