CBA Update

I believe that Shane has done a remarkable job this year with the CBA. I know that he has put in a lot of time and effort behind the scenes that a lot of people do not see. The Classic Qualifier, the chance at 100,000 dollars by catching a state record are just a few. I know a few people are mad about the mid season rule change, but lets not forget about the mid season rule change about long lining. That was influenced by the same person that is mad about the integrity being jeopardized by this seasons change. At the end of the day you can not make everyone happy, but I am confident that Shane made the majority very happy with all that was done. This was a wonderful year and I look forward to next year. Also I have been talking with a few people about what they would like to see next year. I can assure these guys will listen if you have any suggestions so let the know. If I get elected also I will bring these up I promise. Please vote when you sign up this next week and help us keep a good thing going.

Ok I will be the one to say it since no one else will. I love how someone bitches about the way a 90- 100 boat tournament trail is being ran that couldn't run a dogfight without screwing people over and disappearing money.

Gonna have to agree with Tommy on this one. Unlike Ed, Shane is actually trying to put back as much money into the fishermen's pockets rather than taking it!

Guys Ed Has had something to say about every decision that any CBA officer has made or any rule changes, yet, he don't fish em. In fact, I don't think he even fishes at all.

Ed, you asked for it.

Nobody that fishes the CBA gives a crap about what you think. You are not a member so you can't vote, and you can't run for office. I think you have more important issues that you should be focusing on.

Let's try to stay on point here gentlemen. Roger I do understand what you are saying and that is why we will not ever go to a no dead fish rule like a lot of tournaments are. The bottom line is fish care is doable it takes a financial and time commitment. During hot months anyone who takes great care of there fish loses fishing time, but don't assume that hurts people from a competitive perspective. Every tournament one of the bags of fish that are in the best shape out of anyone's is Rogne's...

Another thing that you have to realize is that the public eye is on the CBA, and fish care and tournament mortality is always a big thing. You would be amazed at the phone calls I get on weekends that we don't even have a CBA saying ya'll are killing a ton of fish and going to ruin the fishery. The CBA has no choice but to be the standard amongst all other tournaments, and we should be because throughout the year the CBA weighs more bass than any other tournament or dogfight that takes place on the lake. Its the old saying to whom much is given much is expected and the CBA is the oldest and largest trail on our lake. Its our responsibility to ensure that our children and grandchildren have a great fishery to enjoy.

Had the pleasure to fish a couple this year, and it was an awesome experience. Kudos to Shane and other board members for a professionally ran tourney. Oh yeah, got lucky and placed 4th in august night tourney too. Felt good to place up there with some of the elites in the CBA and what a great organization and kudos to you and everyone's conservation.

What's your thoughts on bringing back the pay out's for big spot and big small mouth Shane? That's the only rule change I didn't really like. I think it gives some of the guys that don't get in the money all the time a chance to collect a small check every now and then.

I think thats an interesting conversation that I am absolutely willing to bring up in the off-season with the officers. The big reason we did away with it was for conservation purposes to expedite weigh-in because the time when fish are in weigh bags their health is going down hill very quickly. Justin, that is something that I will absolutely bring up with the officers when we discuss next season. Thank you for the input! I appreciate that very much.

Boooooom, the truth has been released!

Shane my thoughts are we want to bring the youth in you have to keep that spot pay out. Your in the top 5 or 10 your not keeping no spot 3/4 of the time. I would say allot of the big fish pay outs went to top 5. My vote would be to have 4 and if you needed to add 5 bucks to entry.
