Well I just got up from my nap and thougth I would post Skeeter175 and mine fishing report.

We started the night off fishing Harrison Bluff. Not 20 minutes into the night I caught a 14 inch largemouth on a large pig n jig. The next spot we hit was some of the points in the Booker T area of Chick. We did not catch anything off these points but I got tormented by some small fish that could not eat the large jig I was throwing (see pic). We then proceeded across the river to one of the marinas (don't know which one).

We fished going toward the dam and in the last marina on the right just before you get to the dam I hooked a toad. The fish was in about 8-9 feet of water under a street light. I never felt the fish hit (which is typical for a pig n jig) but when I picked up the bait it felt like I was pulling a boot off the bottom. I set the hook and immediatly knew I had a good fish. I initially thougth it was a drum until it did a 5 foot horizontal jump. Now due to lighting or lack of sleep I thought the fish was a gar as it shot about 5 feet ACROSS the water just like gar do. Skeeter almost put the net down until I got the fish closer to the boat and we could see it was a bass. It was not unitl we boated the fish that we saw it was a smallmouth. This turned out to be the big fish of the tourny at around 4.2 lbs.

We left the marina and fished the boat ramp area at the dam until daylight. We decided to run to Grasshopper and try to get 4 more keeps fishing topwater in the grass. We blasted of and started up river. Right as we got to Harrison Bluff Skeeter's motor started vibrating badly. We stopped and raised the motor to find one of the blades on his prop had broken off. No grass fishing for us. We fished Harrison Bluff and caught a couple more short fish. We did get to watch Jmax catch one of his keepers.

The last stop we made was the marina at HBSP. I caught a 12" largemouth around the houseboats and lost one.

Overall we had a really good time. We boated 5 fish total with just the one keeper. But boy was it a good keeper. This smallie was my personal best and was built like a football. Even with 3 hours of rain and no sleep it was a blast and I look forward to the next one. Thanks for the ride Skeeter!

At the weigh in I had a couple of people ask me what I caught the smallie on so I have included a pic below. I cannot remember the jig manufacture but the pork is a Big Daddy Uncle Josh.

Here is the results as it shaped up. Sorry for being a little slow I too took a nice long nap. It was fun and I did not mind the hours as much as the rain. If it had not rained I think it would have been a very nice time frame. But boy did it ever rain!emoRolleyes I had said that Churly and beetlespin would be the team to beat. Churly has really been on some good fish on the Dogfights on Thursday and those two did not let me down. Nice bag of fish guys. I had expected it to take anywhere from 15 to 20 to win and it was a little slower than I thought it would be. I believe it was due to the lack of water movement and current. Here are the top five wieghts and the order in which the rest of the field ended. I think everyone caught fish except RR from what I was told.emoBigsmile emoBigsmile

First place; Churly and beetlespin with 13.51 lbs.
second place; Davo and brother with 10.91 lbs. (First Tx in new boat. emoParty )
Thrid place; Cory and Mike with 10.72 lbs.
Forth place; Jmax and CCSM with 8.51 lbs.
Fifth place; Jason and Bob with 7.90 lbs.
6th Paulj and Thomas, 7th Mri Wiskers and Skeeter175 with Big Bass at 4.16lbs, 8th Freebird and Crazyaboutbass, 9th Pointer and 2Jigs, and finally a tie between RR/Ranman and Bbass/Jason C.emoBigsmile

We had eleven boats show up to fight the rain and bass, as always I think everyone had fun. Man, I was sorry to hear about and see the pic of Skeeter's Prop. That will be a pretty penny.emoBang I enjoyed it everyone and as always appreciated all of you making it easy to put these on. Also a thanks to Flipper for coming out at weigh in time just ot wiegh our fish. It was great as always also to see everyone.

That's what MrWiskers and I used in the T a couple weeks ago. Nothing much, because of wheather, but that was like one of the only things we were catching them with. That's a really nice smallmouth right there!

Just for the record Jmax (smartazz), I DID catch a couple ... just none that would be worthy for a livewell ride. The best decision I made the whole day was to come home and nap. ranman and I attempted a ride upriver at the beginning, but alas the further north we ran, the harder it rained. We were really forced away from our approach by that rain. We finally threw in the towel and just started beating the banks ... hoping for a bite and more importantly, a break in the weather. When we finally got to where we wanted to be - a main lake flat with a channel junction - we just couldn't get the ball rolling. ranman buttoned up three 14 inchers ASAP on a c-rig, but I couldn't get any love on a jig. ranman's three proved to be the only takers, and we went back shallow hoping for a TW bite. We caught a few more, but never any with size. It was frustrating, but still a hoot. ranman was excellent company and I hope to join him again in the future.

I don't ever really feel like I've lost when attending CFF T's. I enjoy seeing this bunch and spending some time with all of you. I hate to hear of the mis-fortunes of BBass and Skeeter175, so I wish you guys a speedy resolution to your boat woes. My hat's off to all the teams for taking that beating from ma' nature and not bowing out. Congrats to beetlespin and churly for the win ... it's always a bit of redemption to hear that one of my baits pitched in for a little of the pot, but I realize there were some good anglers at the other end of the line. Congrats to Davo and Michael as well. That's a good start in that new boat!

By the way ... ranman's Bullet was a pleasure to ride and fish out of. Wanna know what most impressed me? Most of you know that I have 34 inches of inseam and size 12 go-fasters to stuff under a console. I've never seen so much room under a console in my life. I stretched my legs all the way to the front of the console and never touched anything! That's not all that that impressed me though. It was great ride and a stable platform. Swamp Donkey ... if you read this, take a Bullet for a test drive and I think you'll enjoy yourself. Feel the love SNUFFY!?! emoLaugh

I tell ya fellers..It is nice to sit around and meet a few members. Sometimes I regret not walking up to everyone and saying "hey, who are you?" LOL.

Miserable night if you weren't fishing for the money but over all my partner and I had a fun time. 1/8 oz Texas rig with tube grub / pumpkin seed worm was working slow for us but still working.

Ever been stuck on the water , trolling back to a dock, up for 24 hours and a CBA blast off going by you?..LOL. Thought we would never make it back!

Guys, after things are fix, we'll have a better night and more fish. Good seeing you again.

We started off slow and just stayed that way for most of the TX, I spent two hours in a boat slip in chester frost staying out of the rain from 4 to 6. I even feel asleep for about 30min during the worst of the rain, I should have just stayed in HB and sleep till daylight. We didn't get our first bite tell about 7:00 and it jumped off, it was a small fish that hit a Chug bug in some grass. After fishing some other spots we got on some fish, at 8:10 I caught the first keeper and by 8:20 we had our limit. We caught most of our fish on worms and jigs, 8 keepers all total. Just couldn't get the big bite.

Nice smallie, Mr Wiskers! I used to live in those apartments right next to the Marina you are talking about when I first moved to Chattanooga and I always thought about walking down there and fishing but never got around to it. Guess I should have! Nice Report.

Oh, it is nice to be dryemoLaugh! After lipping fish all night with wet, wrinkly hands, my thumbs look like I ran them over a cheese grater! We began our night fishing the rip-rap along 58 with a couple dozen slicks on spinnerbaits. As we entered Wolftever, we found that the ramp was well-lit and deserted, so we made a few casts. I hooked a solid 3 1/2 to 4lbr on a DJW Chatt-a-bait...hooked, not landed. Somehow while changing the skirt from green to black, I overlooked adding a trailer hookemoDoh. After that, we ran to the little bay in the back of Savannah Creek and fished the lighted boat docks where I picked up two 15 1/32" keepers on a black/blue 10' worm, as well as another dozen or so slicks. With daylight on its way, we ran back out to the bay and upriver to Skull Island. We started on the channel edge and fished the ditch that zig-zags toward the island and once again came up with tons of schooling slicks on a Mann's 20+ and a popper. As we approached Skull Island, I noticed that the little island below it was bordered by pondweed/duckweed, so we hit it instead. On the first cast, I picked up a 3 1/2lbr by swimming a junebug lizard through the edges. Well, you know how the dreaded 'first-cast bass' story turns out...all slicks after the big one. With half an hour left, we decided to hit the bluff across from Sequoyah, where we caught even more schooling slicks. On my last cast, I boated another 15 1/32" keeper off that big wooden dock on the lizard. Unfortunately, our fifth keeper eluded us.
All in all, I am pleased with our night. My partner Bob, on the hand, is still a little bummed that he couldn't hook a keeper. However, it was the first CFF tourney that we've fished in which we had a game-plan and stuck to it. I knew we wouldn't have time to search for deep hot-spots, so I gambled on shallow water weed bass. Although I had never fished Savannah Creek or the Skull Island area before, they were just as good as they appeared on the map. Of course, there are always the 'What ifs?' What if I had landed that bass at the Wolftever ramp? Would I have edged out Davo for second? What if that was the 'Big Fish'?

Nice smallie, Mr Wiskers! I used to live in those apartments right next to the Marina you are talking about when I first moved to Chattanooga and I always thought about walking down there and fishing but never got around to it. Guess I should have! Nice Report.

Thanks. I thought the apartments were at the first marina we stopped at. I could be wrong as it was 4:30, raining, so maybe I missed them. That marina looks like a super spot for bass. It is about 20-25 feet in the mouth and about 8-10 feet through most of it. I plan on fishing it some next spring.

CCSM and I went into the WT to check on some bluff fish and it was slow, slow, slow. CCSM miss one and fianlly about an hour later I got one on but it came off as soon as I set the hook and tried to turn it.emoBang That was it in the Wolf. One hour and change with only two bites. I told CCSM we had better head for the main lake deeper bite. Hit a drop that is always good for me with grass as deep as eight feet. They were there but not much size. Finally CCSM said there's a good one and I netted what I thought was a 14 something fish but I said I would measure it just in case. I am glad I did becuase with the mouth closed and tail pinched it touched 15. I had almost thrown back our first keeper. He caught it on a T-Rigged dark blue worm. After about five more slicks I finally rared back and had some weight. CCSM netted it and it was 2.68 lbs, our best one for the day. It was on a black t-worm. At daylight we started moving around hitting humps and drops but had no takers but a couple more slicks. Finally at about 8 I went to another hump and it had fish one it. I had two nice keepers back to back and we missed a couple more. Than I caught a drum and CCSM had one I thought would give us a limit but no matter how I measured it the tail would just barely NOT touch.emoAngry It was a hair from not touching, and I do mean a hair. We were catching all these on a C-rigged 10 worm, I had on june bug and CCSM had on blue and also he used a june bug four inch finesse worm. We hit a couple more places but could never hooked up that fifth keepers. Couple more slicks and we just ran out of time. I had a great time and CCSM is always good company. Thanks to all and congrats to the winners.emoCool Jmax

2jigs and I started out on a hump in Harrison Bay throwing blades, Booyah's Chatterbait clone, and soft plastics. This hump always holds fish and oftentimes good ones. I knew it was going to be a tough night/day when we didn't pull up a single fish. Fished the area around Pinky's Point with similar results. To make the situation all the bettter, a monsoon sets in making the run upriver an adventure. Stopped for a short while in the HB pool slew and I picked up what was to be our only keeper of the tournament on a Zoom Ultra Vibe Worm. I decided to duplicate the pattern that placed fisherpal2k and I second in the last tourney 2 weeks ago. Ware Branch started off promising with 2 fish on a Ribbit Frog. For the next hour however, we didn't see so much as a burp out the fish. Ran a bit further North and tried Flukes, topwaters, and soft plastics around docks. The most exciting time was when a monster fish with shoulders like Arnold Schwarzanegger slammed 2jigs's Sammy. This thing came completely out of the water but missed. I think that took the wind out of both of our sails. We limped back home with one keeper to show for our efforts. Thanks 2jigs. We'll do it up right next time.

Hey Jmax, we had one of your days on the Chick. Prior to our last stop at Sequoyah, we had boated 57 bass.

Are you sure you were fishing the same Chick we were? I bet you guys had a blast catching that many fish.

Dang!emoParty Now that is fun even if they weren't all that big. You may have won the most fish in the boat award today. I am not sure how many we boated but nothing close to that. I would guess 20 to 25 but that may be a little high. We missed a bunch today so it seemed like more.emoScratch Jmax

57, holy crap. Were you guys sleeping somewhere and dreaming of that many. We boated a lot of fish but no A LOT of fish. Any time you can get on them like that it's fun.

To be honest, until I boated our first keeper at 4:30 I was getting a little fed up. I had the sinking feeling that we wouldn't have anything but slicks to talk about at the weigh-in.
