Absolutely great reports folks. emoThumbsup I am NOT sorry I was NOT there... that's a double-negative that means I was proud to be warm and dry in my comfy little bed last night. I almost feel guilty learning all this great stuff from the folks who toughed out a miserable night on the water. emoRain And Skeeter, I know you didn't make due to busted prop... but Chick Dam to Grasshopper! Man... I feel like I've gone a long way running from the Dam to Harrison Bluff. You guys do cover some water! emoWorthy

I think Beetlespin and Churly went all the way to the Hwy 60 bridge! I probably didn't put 5 miles on the boat all night.

Of course that's because you slept under the bridge emoBigsmile ... but I ain't laughin'. I've sat out many a downpour under that bridge myself.

We ended up only going from Harrison Bay to the Dam and back which is was only 14.63mi all day. 30 more miles wouldent have been that bad. 50gal. of gas will take you a good ways. if you want to win a tournament.

Good grief... I don't think I've used 50 gallons of gas since May.

I haven't used 50 gallons in my boat since I bought it in April of last year!
Now my trolling motor has several hundred hours on it and gone through 2 batteries and a charger.

well as Rob said our night didn't go that well.I don't think I've ever spent that much time unprotected, in that hard of a rain EVER!Everytime it would slack up enough to move upriver we would run right back into it(I wonder how much it would cost to put a radar on my boat?):)I'm not really sure what the problem was with the fish,by all of the reports after the fact, and by the way we were fishing we should have had a boatload. There were times early in the morning we would run a buzzer past something and Rob or I would say "that should have been a fish" and there would be nothing. The only explanation I can come up with is that(sorry Rob but you knew is was comingemoPoke) Rob wore his ranger hat in my bullet and put the jinx on us!Same thing happend to me a few years ago in a times tournament,I wore my bullet hat in my friends ranger and we blanked.Just kidding buddy,I really enjoyed your company and wished we could have done a little better than we did.My hat's off to everyone who made it,that was a marathon of sleeplessness for most of us.I know I lost track of time there for a few hours,I looked at my watch at one point and it was already 5 in the mourning!I was thinking WOW! how did that happen,We'd better wake up and find some fish! Then before I knew it it was time to head back.Great to see everyone again, looking forward to the next one!

(I wonder how much it would cost to put a radar on my boat?):)
Just FYI ( a little promotion here)... for those of you who have Internet-capable cell phones, NewsChannel9.com now has a special website designed specifically for Cell Phones or Blackberries and it includes ANIMATED RADAR. Just browse to http://www.NC9ToGo.com

We had our first keeper which was a 3 plus smallmouth at around 4 on a finese worm in around 15 ft. We caught our 2nd and 3rd keepers at around 9 where the river channel meets the bank around some blowdowns on a super fluke. The bad thing about a fluke is that it is hard to hook them sometimes. We had several keepers that got off. We had fun. Thanks Jmax.
