The first day we took a long ride up to the golf course area. The plan was to catch a limit of spots with a smallmouth kicker. My third cast of the day at my favorite small mouth hole, I felt a tick and a beautiful 3.5 brown fish goes airborne. Jeff nets her and the plan is coming together. We spent the next two hours trying catch spots. Nothing but a few babies. We then took a ride up to the dam and promptly caught a 2.5 spot. Fished up there a few more hours and only caught mother earth a few times. We headed back toward Sullivans and with a few fruitless stops. About one we went to Mullins cove area and caught a limit of spots and finally caught a decent lm. We finished the first day in 5th or sixth with 10.5 lbs. The second day, we ran down river and caught a small limit of spots in the first 15 minutes. We moved out to the river drops and culled most of them and now had about ten lbs. We spent the rest of the day going from hole to hole with nothing to show for it. Finally about 1 pm, Jeff catches a 3 lb large mouth and we are done mentally and physically. Two days in a row is hard on two seventy year olds. We finished with 21 lbs for third and had big and only smallmouth and big spot. Jeff and I would like to thank all the committee members for their hard work and listening to all the bitching we do.
