Any interest in a cookoff camping trip? I was thinking maybe a weekend in April or May before its too hot. Everybody brings their smokers and a bunch of beer and camp someplace on the lake. Guess we could even combine it with a little tourney or something. I'd be glad to put it together but I'd like to see how much interest we had first.

I'd vote for a family friendly camp out but that would mean no beer, etc. More people would probably have interest in that. Anyone else feel that way?

I think as far as the beer goes we would just do it like the picnic. Bring whatever you want to drink and have a good time.

How about fish fry, smoked meat, bbq a grill and designated drivers. Love good food, good follks and cold beer-don't like DUI's. It would be a good way to meet the members. Sullivan's on nickajack has a good setup and yeah, a little tourny would be good! emoToast

I'm game either way, if someone wants to have a camp/cookout with byob they are free to do so. If someone wants to set up a dry event they are free to do so as well.

I have talked to Spurhunter about doing a BBQ cooking before, I can get the new park at Kimball and it has bathrooms, lights, plenty of parking and a pretty good place to lay down if you wanted to, we could just make this a BBQ or cooking event and leave the fishing for another day, this way we wouldn't have anything to do but cook and share ideas and maybe share a few fishing stories, just a good gettogether, bring what you want to snack on or drink, if everyone wants to do this, get it together and I can get the park, it comes on a first come basis but I need about a week ahead of time to get it.

I would like to see the camping trip materialize, that would just be awesome!!! ( yeah I can cook) steaks, potatoes, corn on the cob, Hmmm...

Me and Foodsaver have been talking about this type of event for 6 months or more, hope we can put it together. I vote for HBSP, or even Skull Island. Dont have a prob if people BYOB, just hope nobody gets smashed around a dozen or more meat smokers...
