As Ronnie and I left out from my house Saturday morning I told him that it was not raining, it wasn't cold and the wind wasn't blowing so we are probably toast right now because that is all that we have fished in for the past several months! I asked him what are we going to do on a nice, beautiful day? We did the blast off and then headed down the river from CFP to our newly agreed upon first stop. After an hour or so without a bite we gave up and moved to stop number two. Another hour goes by and not a bite. We were fishing shallow throwing traps, spinner baits, chatter baits and cranks baits. Finally Ronnie catches a 15 in. keeper on a jig. We moved again and nothing. Finally we moved to another bank that we had at first agreed to start on and started throwing jigs and shakey heads. Ronnie catches another keeper. Then a short fish. I haven't had a bite! I finally asked him if he would let me catch one? Then I did get a keeper and another short fish. But at least now we have three in the box. Ronnie catches another keeper and culls his first fish out. Then I break one off on the hook set that I think was a good size fish but not a monster by any means. And that that we all she wrote! We caught six fish total for 7.?? lbs. good for 4th place. All the fish were caught on a shakey head except for the first keeper. Congrats to Mike and Jeff on the butt whooping that they put on all of us.
