Looks like a good tx, Ive always wanted to fish that lake.. I wanted to come and fish too.. but I had 10yrs growth on 3/4 acre of brush, briars and trees to clear off by monday. Hamilton County health dept coming to do septic perk test for my new house in Soddy. And the backhoe will be there later in the week to start digging footers.
Ive never driven a Bobcat b4 .. takes a lil getting use to .. but with in an hour I was rippin up over grown shrubs, small trees and briars like a pro.. We tried for 3 hrs to get a fire started yesterday morn.. finnaly got one pile started and kept pushing brush up into it with bobcat, got half of the piles burnt b4 got to late.. today should have all burnt and ready to go.
Ill hopefully see all at the Frost bite tx in Dec

Sure did enjoy being out on the lake with my good freind Pointer...We didnt figure out the fish but I got to see some good spots on the lake that ought to be interesting to fish when the water is back up...All I had for the day is one about 11" on a junebug dead ringer fished under a dock.. Lost one in a tree near a dock and had a blowup on a buzzbait that was ran over a brushpile..got to watch Pointer wrestle with a big ole striper that was laying up near a seawall, and got to use my new fancy-smancy net to bring em in the boat even though my old net would have probably done the job too. Congrats to the winners who had some really nice fish.. Weather was nasty but Fibbers made it all worth the drive.

I would like to thank Flip and BBass for the work they put in yesterday. Bo and I have always enjoyed fishing Weiss lake. We caught fish at most stop we made before the front came in. We started with a long run down the lake to get to the Bay springs area of the lake. We decided to start at the lower end and work our way back hitting several spots that we had in mind along the way. First spot produced the largest fish in our limit with a white spinnerbait off of rocks. The spinnerbait had an ultravibe willowleaf blade that really thumbs. Twenty min. later a big spot hit the ultra vibe again and put up a really tough fight. Two keepers on spot # 1 so we felt ok. On the second stop we did not get get a bite. On the third stop we changed the game plan a little and started throwing cranks and spinnerbaits. We were still fishing water from 0 to 7 feet in depth but we wanted to see what was on the deeper end of that range instead of just the first couple of feet. We had two solid hook ups with the crank but they pulled off before we could get them to the net. We think they were both magnum spots. The larger spinner bait with a little more color on it produced two more keeper fish. We pick up two more keeper fish on the next stop on spot stickers. Both were keepers but small. We started back up the lake with stops at church house and yellow creek. We hooked one good fish that was lost after a breif fight in a brush pile. After the front came through the conditions got really tough with wind and rain. We only hooked one fish during this time and decided to make it back to the safety of JR's. The water temp was 55 degrees and all fish were caught in 0- 7 feet of water. One pattern that we had plan on using was flipping docks with a jig. We tried but did not get a single jig bite all day on any structure. Thanks to all the guys that showed up. I enjoyed meeting some new people and putting some names with faces. Thank God for the fish we caught and that everyone made it home safely. God Bless

Its was great getting to finally meet you Bio and Bo. It sure did look like you love that lake to me too.LOL...Nice bag you guys had.

That has to be one of the best reports for a TX i've seen in awhile! VERY DETAILED! Thats why were all here. Learn and grow.

Flibbers was a good meal and I enjoyed getting to conversate with you fellers. We'll have to do that again! LOL...The Catfish at the food bar was the only one I bagged all day that I got to keep...well atleast for a few hours.

On to my report: (note, it should be blank for me!) Meaning, Flip was the only one in the boat that put anything in the livewell! I thought after the first set of docks we hit, I was gonna see a mice bag that afternoon. But, that wasnt the story. Flip got the biggest one off a dock and nothing after that. I do the\ink we had a few small hits but nothing taking it.

After a move up lake, I was throwing a RipRap Shad#6 and had my arm about snap off from a stripper. I've never been on these bigger stripes like that and I was amazed at the power they have! UNREAL. It dug my watch right into my arm and pitch it. (don't worry, I lived..LOL!) I managed to get the next one to the boat. See my smile? Hehehe...yea, I yelled "Hey hey hey hey hey hey ...FLIP!"

Alittle later I got a small Largemouth and Flip bagged in 2 more keeper spots.

All and all, I had a GREAT time getting to ride with Flip and get to know him alittle more. Hes a great partner and I learned a few more things from him. I just wished the bite was better for me. Weiss Lake?..Very scarey to run but from the picture of the sunrise, its another of God's gifts to us and thats why I love being out there.

Michael.....You are the man. Net and all.emoUpsmile emoUpsmile

Strippers in the water BBass? Where were you and Flip fishing? It would have made for a better day on the water for Sandskeeter and I if we'd been on them too.

Thanks to all of you guys for your hospitality. DMims and I had a pretty rough day. We started out fishing some points and docks were we have caught several fish in the past but could not seem to conveince the fish it was time to eat. We threw crankbaits, spinnerbaits, rattle traps, rio ricos, and jigs. I did pick up one fish flipping a jig under a dock but he came up short. Hooked another spot that looked like it would of kept but came unbuttoned. That fish was on a jig as well under a dock. After the rain and cold front moved in I was beginning to think we were going to be skunked. I just told Doug, Weiss used to be on my top five list of favorite lakes but after this trip it probably will not make the cut anymore. At around 1:00 still with no keepers in the boat we pulled up to some docks I flipped on in previous tournaments and did alright on in the past. Got to one particular dock that was sitting in about seven feet of water with a drop off in front of it that went to twelve feet. I flipped my homemade green pumpkin jig under the dock and I finally boated our first and only keeper. It was a dink but we figured well we are not going to get skunked. Got to weigh-in a little reluctant to weigh my one fish but I thought I drove all the way down here so I guess I will weigh it. My one little dink weighed 5lb 15oz. Good enough for big fish. I'll take it. emoParty Daddy always said "If you're going to come to the scales with only one fish son make it a good one" Thanks for a great tournament and I look forward in fishing some more in the future. Did I also mention Weiss is back on my top 5.

For what it's worth to those who regularly attend CFF tournaments ...

I happened to realize Saturday while I was out on the Chick with Roba22 and you guys were down on Weiss, that it was the 1 year aniversary of CFF T's. There I was, fishing the same neck of the woods one year to the day later that we had a whole FIVE boats show up to fish the inaugural CFF event out of Grasshopper. My how times change! There was Pointer, flip, TBP (the first crowned champ of a CFF event), CCSM, and myself.

The fields have increased, the venues have changed, and the winners have all changed, but the similarities between then and now - and all in between - are scary similar. They never seem to get old, do they? It's been a fun year gang and I appreciate getting to know everyone. Here's to another ... and another ... and ........ emoToast

I'm just happy to finally make these things! I love helping out and being a part of them.
