CFP Boat Ramp Closed 9/23-24

Caution, Our wonderful Hamilton County couldn't get the word out to the boating public that there is a Food City sponsored Poultry and Livestock show at CFP this weekend. All the ramps were taped off and caravans of boats screwed for nowhere to turn around. Had to drive out the penninsula to turn around at the guard shack. Apparently they were not smart enough to post a ranger or officer to direct boating traffic to be able to turn around at the ramps. I saw about 7 Ranger and Sheriff vehicles and 15 other cars all stuffing coffee and donuts in the Ranger Station and not a one to help boaters trying to launch. Our tax money at work! Not very intelligent planning here. They could have at least posted signs a couple of weeks ago that the ramps would be closed.

Not sure if it goes thru Sunday. Ramps may be open tom. Call the Ranger Sta. at CFP.

It's the Hamilton county fair. Believe it's always the 4th weekend in Sept .

Yes. County Fair. Ramps are always closed during it. Same time every year. Saturday and Sunday both

I spoke to someone at Hamilton county parks and recreation. They told me that they can close the ramps down at any time and for how long they choose to close the ramps down.

They could at least post a sign at the entrance to the park at Hixson Pike... But that wouldn't be complicated enough for the govt.
