Glue a piece of UHMW (plastic cutting board or starboard) then screw your tranducer to the plastic plate.

Mounting your transducer on your boat with zero holes drilled. Shape yourself a Flat bar that resembles the fish rulers with the turned up end. Configure the lower end to be able to attach your transducer. Form it to fit against your transom where you can use a "C" clamp to clamp the bracket to your transom. The bottom surface should be from flush to no more than 1/8" below the bottom surface of your boat hull.Mark the Bracket where you will know the depth to set it. If you are handy with tools you can build it with the clamp attached. The cable will run through the clamp to keep it from flopping around.

The Grande Canyon of the South, I checked it years ago and thought my depth finder was messed up well over 100 ft in some areas, I think if you used a downrigger with a lb. or two weight you may be able to fish pretty deep and who knows what kind of beast could be lurking down there!
