I want to thank Davo, Churly and Bbass for their recent posts. It got me going on bass fishing and we had a great day. Best day this year so far and that includes Guntersville. Me and Cherokee Ridge got out today on the chick and found a top water bite to be on and we had some fantastic strikes. We went a lot of places and seemed like every place we went we got bit. We tried to keep track and I believe we got in the boat 21 bass today and the best five were 4.5 lbs, two 3.5 lbs, a 3 lber and a solid 2.75, a total just over 17 lbs.. Had some wicked hits and lost at least two other real good fish, one each. I do not want to go into detail since we have our Tx this weekend but now is the time to get out there for some great action. CR took pictures of every good fish we had so he is suppose to post the top five if he can figure out which ones they were from the pictures.emoWorthy Jmax

Thanks for the report Jmax. What was the water temp out there today? I tried top water the other night but didn't get any takers, but then again I only fished a small area for about 30 minutes. Sounds like you guys had some weight in there!

You know, it was just about 30 years ago when I went out on a Wednesday and hammered the bass, prompting me to enter my first-ever tournament the next Saturday. Of course, my fish were GONE and I was a freakin' nervous wreck all day. Swore I'd never do it again... and haven't with the exception of one CFF "fun" tournament. Now I'm SURE not wishin' anything bad any you, or anybody. But you know full well not to go counting your money yet. emoBigsmile emoBigsmile

It was over 60 degrees in several locations. I did not want to leave today. We started at 7:30 and ended at 3:30. Had a wonderful time and CR is a good net man and picture man.emoPoke Jmax

CCSM is fishing with me this weekend and when I told him what we had done today his reply was,"Great, now we won't catch a thing this weekend."emoLaugh Sounds like Rsimms and CCSM went to the same school. The thought did enter my mind as well. When you do as well as we did today it just makes you nervous about this Tx coming up. It would be just like me and CCSM to do that. I would think with the bass really starting to turn on we should have a good turn out this weekend for our CFF.emoSmileJmax

Jmax, I can see no reason why the bite will change this weekend on the Chick. The time is perfect the weather is perfect, Hey you guys are going to have a great time. The only problem you could possibly have will be boat traffic once the pleasure boater get out. I did manage to boat 3 or 4 nice bass and a killer crappie. 1 on a buzz bait the rest on a blue trap. also I have a map's of all the spots we fished on sale for $5.00 a copy. Be sure and get your copy B-4 the Tx. Saturday.
