But now I can see and what's cool is that you were fishing a totally different kind of area than me and Churly which tells me that the fish are really heating up........of course, I'm not too sure if we are all excited about you being on big fish 4 days before the txemoLaugh

I will give you that...I do not mind and it just missed my post. The shallowest keeper was caught in 2 feet on a lay down. Most were caught in about 5 to 6 feet. I will say none were caught in water greater than ten feet. I call that a shallow bite. To be honest I think most of the better fish were staging to go shallow not too far from shallow flats. In the flats we found smaller bucks that would not make 15 inches. Does that help there Davo?emoCool Jmax

We figured the bigger fish were also staging just a bit deeper than we were fishing. If this weather holds, all that may change.

TT, I cannot remember just what I was saying but CR had just got a call from his wife when this one nailed the spook. That bass tried to jerk the rod out of my hands. CR on the phone with his wife said,"Honey if you read about some guy that had drowned on the Chick it will have been me pushing Jmax over board, he just caught another one over three while I am talking to you on the phone." When he got off the phone and got the camera he was looking at me like he really wanted to. I said something like,'What?...do you want me to stop fishing?" and I held out my hands when I said it and he took the picture.emoLaugh Like Paul Harvey says,"..and now you know, the rest of the story."emoBigsmile

Davo I think you are correct in your summery as well. The weather is only suppose to drop into the 70s so that will still keep the water warming and the bass going shallow. We may see an early spawn compared to last year. With the water down that may not nessarily be a good thing. Jmax
