Mr. Cathy probably needs to keep his restaurants and attitudes down here in the good ole Bible Belt. Gay and Lesbian marriage is supported by a 48% to 44% margin nationwide, and is supported 65% to 35% once you leave the bible belt. Why do so many of you care one bit if they get married?.... it doesn't affect you or your marriage in any possible way. This is one of those issues where in 20 years we'll (most of us) look back and say "really? people argued about this?" I would think a smart businessman would want everyone to buy his overpriced chikin sandwiches and waffle fries. BTW... for all you Sunday School Bible Scholars, there are several "forms" of marriage supported in the Bible, many of which views women simply as property. 1. One man, one woman (most all arranged in a business deal). 2. A Rapist and his victim 3. A soldier and his p.o.w. 3. A man and his brothers widow. 4. One man, one woman plus concubines. 5. One man and many women (polygamy). I know this will piss some people off but.... The Bible is not the authority on who should get married and who shouldn't. I know that's considered blasphemy is these parts.... but it's the TRUTH nevertheless.

Lev 18:22 says all I need to say about the situation. I could care less if two guys wanna get married although it is gross and disgusting but don't blast Mr. Cathy for standing up for his beliefs. My overpriced chicken sandwich sure was delicious today at lunch.

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from people like you, and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As man have said "in the eyes of God marriage is based betweea man a woman." I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

4. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it? By the way, when is the sabbath anyway? The Jews say Saturday, the Christians say Sunday?

5. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

6. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

7. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

8. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? Can I still eat BBQ?

9. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Just curious as to why you think YOU are more of an authority on things over anyone or anything else.

Funny how even in California the most liberal state in the union they couldn't get it passed when put to a vote of the people.

Also interesting to note that Homosexuality is mentioned in the New Testament as well as the old. Check out 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. That being said as long as it doesn't somehow affect me I could care less if they call it a marriage. While I consider homosexuality a sin I believe we all sin pretty frequently and until I am perfect I will refrain from judging anyone else that may or may not be sinning. That being said Dan Cathy expressed his opinion which is constitutionally protected. From this we learned that the left only is interested in protecting freedom of speech if they agree with the speech. Rahm Emmanuel completely overstepped the bounds of his authority with his statement and learned very quickly that he was unable to legally do what he said he would. Last Wednesday was as much or more about free speech than it was about gay marriage.

Pretty sure that everything in the Bible is not "supported." Look at someone with multiple wives in the Bible, and you'll see all did not go well with these folks. As far as destroying Christianity or Judaism by citing a few Levitical laws go, that's tough. I agree that the Bible - in its entirety - is the word of God. I also believe that some of the laws were there for a certain amount of time. Example: not trimming the sides of your beard. It was to be a visible sign that something was different about these folks.

And I thought this was just about catching fish...

No, its about chicken, and that Chic Fil A uses only homosexuals to run their chicken farms. I for one will stop going there if they are forcing gays to work at chicken farms and not paying them in pesos. Isnt that what this is all about???

65% to 35% .... They must play a lot of banjoe music up North. I believe I'll stay up here on this Mountain and maybe I want be around 20 years from now.

Agree with Foodsaver. And would add that the reason homosexuality is particularly upsetting is that those who practice have given up the fight. We do all struggle with sin. When the struggle ends, what have you got? Imagine if you embraced your own sins and attempted to make them socially acceptable. "I hate my neighbor!" "I look the other way when I see someone in need!" "I do not work hard for my employer!" This kind of stuff isn't applauded, so should homosexuality?

On another interesting note, did you know that 4% of Americans are not straight? So all of this stink is for a relatively small group of people. That's not to say that each individual should not be respected and loved. Just something to consider. Source: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics...-no-idea-how-few-gay-people-there-are/257753/

You went to a lot of trouble to make my point for me... The Bible is choc full of things that don't apply in today's world..... You just listed a bunch of them. Either you agree with ALL of "God's Word" or not. You can't pick and choose. The way I see it, if you agree that homosexuality is an abomination..... you must also agree with your above listed items. You can't have it both ways. When I last checked the USA was a FREE country. To me that means the Freedom to do whatever we want as long as no harm comes to anyone else (physically or financially). GALM harms no-one. We are also supposed to have separation of church and state. The Bible is not our founding document, the Constitution is.

I don't understand you people at all. You all keep bringing the same old issue up over and over again!

It's not that dang expensive! I can buy a #1 large and a coke for 6$. Why do you keep making these false accusations like this????

Lol.

The way I see it is that he has the right to express his first amendment rights just like everyone else does. Where were all the "Obama give me another handout" buttkissers when he said he said he was against it, before he said he was for in exchange for $$$? I would not think it will hurt Chik-Fil-A that much, as most of the uneducated that are for Obama cannot afford to go their to eat because they don't accept WIC or EBT.

October 2004:

OCTOBER 2004:What I believe is that marriage is between a man and a woman … What I believe, in my faith, is that a man and a woman, when they get married, are performing something before God, and it’s not simply the two persons who are meeting,” then-U.S. Senate candidate Obama said in an interview with Chicago Public TV.

JUNE 2011:The president has never favored same-sex marriage. He is against it. The country is evolving on this, and he is evolving on it,” White House Communication Director Pfeiffer told activists at the Net Roots Nation conference.

OCTOBER 2010:I have been to this point unwilling to sign on to same-sex marriage primarily because of my understandings of the traditional definitions of marriage,” President Obama said during an interview with liberal bloggers... “

And it is a free country...Freedom of speech, which is being threatened...right to bear arms, which is being threatened...right to health insurance...OOPS, that's not in there..

Also would like to point out that we live under the New Covenant (new testament) not the old. Those laws were given specifically to the Jews for the time before Jesus arrived. As has been discussed before the intent of the founding fathers was to protect the Church from the State not the other way around.
