I have Cabelas Extreme Berber flecce Parka and bibs. These are very warm but also very bulky. I am looking for something as warm with less bulk. Any ideas ?

Yesterday fished for musky in Tn and the temps started in the 20's and at three p.m. still had ice in the guides. This will probably be the coldest conditions I will face this year. That being said and I also have the same extreme fleece from Cabelas and found the bulkiness an issue, because of always moving and casting required to fly fish. Then I searched as you are now. Some solutions I have found that work in the E. Tn weather that I spend at least 2 days a week on the water all year not letting the weather stop me.

1) Simms:https://www.simmsfishing.com/shop.h...sJMP9JMAqEWFOJW7qLHSUx76_IpR46RPAexoC3Zzw_wcB
I have fished in the majority of their gear and the products have been durable, quality top shelf gear that has lasted 7 plus years and still going great. I mainly fly fish but they have transitioned to the Bass circuit

2) Arcteryx: http://www.arcteryx.com/ProductFind.aspx?country=us&language=en&gender=Mens
The Arcteryx Cerium jacket with hood that I wear and their snow bibs have been the best I've used in 50 + years. Allows me to wear fewer layers less bulkiness.

3) Buffalo wool Company:https://thebuffalowoolco.com/collections/socks
I have had the same pair for 2 years and in extreme cold add the Cabelas heated socks over the wool and with days like yesterdays cold weather up near Erwin ,Tn...... warm feet all day.

This gear allowed me to fish from a boat in the wind all day regardless of weather . PM me for any particulars on the gear and I will do my best to assist. I would have a lot more money saved knowing this 10 years ago.

Hope this helps.

I've always just layered with Under Armour base 2.0 on bottom and finish off with Guidewear. I used to wear big bulky boots, but unless it gets super cold you will be fine in thick wool socks and something like Merrell sandals...it sounds crazy but your feet don't sweat and I usually don't have an issue...just don't get them wet.

I purchased the bass pro 100 mph suit and it's worth every penny. Not too bulky but still warm and saves you from the wind. I've fished Friday-Sunday for the past three weekends and haven't really been to the point of cold cold. Add a pair of fleeced lined neoprene fishing gloves and I'm good all day
