As full of sh!t as Jmax is he may have to drink the laxative for a week before he goes in...

Lmax

I was thinking the same thing, they may never get him cleaned out to do the procedure.

My doctor...who graduated with my little brother and I coached in pee wee football....took a Sharpie to my behind during mine and wrote notes to my wife. About a week and half later I was back in his office and he asked what my wife thought of the note. I said what note? He's like don't lie to me. I said what are you talking about? He described what he did. I said "He!! doc. We've been married 13 years. She doesn't look at my a$$ anymore." Got to a hotel later that day in Nashville for a meeting and found a mirror. He wasn't lying..... He's a nut...like his daddy... Doctor Gomez, OBGYN. (Note- Doctor Gomez is not a real doctor. He just likes to call himself that. I'm not sure if he's been able to perform any exams trying to pass himself off as an obgyn....and I don't want to know.)

You all gave great advice, I had it this morning. I did not like yesterday, AT ALL!!!!! They made me drink that awful stuff you all warned me about. I think it was about a gallon of the stuff but by the fourth glass it felt more like five gallons. That crap was hard to get down over such a short time. emoVomit Then about the time you are just about done the stuff starts showing itself again at the other end. emoMad Like I have said, I hate hospitals and doctors to the degree of a phobia. They talked a lot so it kept me distracted while I waited and for me that was a good thing. Then they wheeled me in and prepped me with a bunch of stick on's and an IV. Told me to lay on my side and then we all waited. A couple minutes later a Doctor Goodmen came in and said, "Let's get this show on the road." They started and I was out like a light. About an hour later I was waking up with my better half and a nurse standing over me saying, "How you feel?" emoEek I felt like old Sergeant Schultz on Hogan's Heroes, I felt nothing, I saw nothing, I remember nothing. That was cool, it was the best worse thing I can remember doing in a hospital.

They found one polyp six feet in and they cut it out. emoGeezer They will send it in for a biopsy but the doctor said it did not look like anything to worry about. He did say that was one of the silent killers. When they are that deep you don't know they are there until it is too late if you were to have an issue. He told me I was more then likely good for another five years. emoThumbsup Jmax

A word of caution. If they do remove any polyps take it easy for a couple of days. I had a bleeder once and wound up in ER. I get free VA healthcare so it was just an inconvenience.

Just don't do anything strenuous or jog etc.

Don't freak out if after a week or so you pass a little blood. It's sometimes kind of like a scab peeling off and seeping a little blood. It will be a one time thing if at all.

I've had four colonoscopies so far. "Prolific Polyp Producer". Had 12 polyps the first time, three the second, none the third and one the last.

Colonoscopies are really no big deal. I don't dread them at all. I don't look forward to them either emoGeezer

Yep, when they told me to start counting down from ten, the last number I remembered was nine. Then "Poof," it's all over.

Hope that polyp foolishness is indeed, nothing. emoThumbsup

6 ft. Deep huh?

Yep, apparently that thing goes round and round so you can actually go six feet in. Weird isn't it? emoScratch That was staight from the Doctor himself that told me that. Now I was pretty loopy and maybe he was joking but that is what he said. emoSmile Jmax
