Ok I have a question for you all on here. When we first moved here we got comcast cable. first becasue that is what we had up in kingsport and it made for an easy transfer and we had srevice the day we moved in. Also because of the high speed internet that well is a must in this house.. But I keep hearing people around me talking about their dish service being so much cheaper I have to wonder if I am loseing money.. So i thought I would ask everyone here their thoughts. this is what i must have. Cable TV of course. I don't need 3000 channels I just need the basic stuff that most everyone has. I need High speed internet that is fast and that i can count on. (dose not drop when it rains) and i need the local channels.. I don't mean just to have CBS of NBC.. I mean local news networks. So again i need those things and that is why we went with comcast cable. Now what will dish network or Direct Tv give me and or what will i lose? I got this offer from Direct that looks pretty good but will it cost me in the end?

I have comcast cable, internet, and phone service. Very happy with it. I don't want direct or dish. My mom and step-dad had dish network in Maryville and everytime that a cloud came over the house, it was constantly searching for a signal. Hate it when you miss 5 minutes of a close ball game or in the middle of a movie and it goes out. I can't remember the last time that the cable went out.

You are where you need to be, don't move. The dishes don't have high speed internet or the local news, cbs, nbc, abc. or 3,9, or 12. Some dishes have internet service but it will cost you out the ying yang. The dish networks want your business and are willing to give you close to what you have now for a few dollars cheaper on the month than cable.

I had Direct for 3 years and have had Dish Network now for 7 years. I like the Dish Network better and rarely does it lose a signal. I mean it has to be coming a toad strangler gully washer extremely hard driving rain and then it is only off for a couple seconds. It has to do with dish positioning. If you lose signal easily it is because the installer was lazy and did not get the strongest percentage of signal when it was installed. I have DSL internet from the phone company and it does pretty well. Maybe a touch slower than cable but I can't get cable out here in the woods so I have no choice. I hear a few horror stories from friends that have the Comcast services around here. Mainly about their pricing and billing.

I have had Direct TV for a long time, and like it, but dont do internet through it. I can only get Bellsouth/AT&T DSL where I live now,and it seems pretty good. I had Comcast in Oooltewah, and hated it....fast but ONLY when their system wasnt down....ALL THE TIME!!!!!!
