Glad they caught them. I believe I saw these same guys near HBSP earlier this year, they had nets near cove mouths, almost all the way across.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! emoThumbsup emoThumbsup emoWorthy

I really hope that they lose the vehicle, boat, nets, etc. and pay hefty fines. They could throw a little jail time in there too.

"Sligh was cited for 10 counts of over the limit of catfish over 34 inches, one count of commercial fishing within 100 yards of the mouth of a creek or slough, one count of having more than 3/4 of a slough blocked off by commercial nets, and one count of illegal tags on commercial nets. Coulter, the helper, was cited with one count of illegal destruction of wildlife (for having killed the striped bass).

The two have a mandatory court appearance on April 24th in General Sessions Court in Rhea County in front of Judge Jimmy McKenzie."

hope it at least includes several years of a license ban. If they cant read and understand the rules they shouldn't be allowed to make money from the waters.

" 10 counts of catfish over the 34" limit" is REDICULOUS. They should have there licence pulled and numerous fines as well..........and the idiot that killed the stripe needs to be thumped over the head with a ball-bat also. I would think this action as well as other violations is why commercial fishing has been banned in many fisheries.....

I would not get excited about this yet ...these guys have been commercial fishing for 20+ years and i am sure this is not the first time they have been caught doing something illegal. I hope our court system nails them but i really doubt that a lot will come of this and that's sad.
