Concealed Carry

I have to carry behind the back ( too much over hang on the sides LoL ) a good wide belt is a big help .

Also use a Black hawk CQC molded for the Glock 21 , but all my glocks fit it except the baby Glocks.
Best thing about it is that you can put it on or take it off without removing your belt. It has snap loops, 100x
easier than taking your belt off and on .

Brandon you will love that holster, give it a chance to break in and don't be afraid to trim a little leather off of it to make it more comfortable if needed .. I have one for my SR 40C and my Sig 238..

You can also carry loaded shotguns in your car with the permit. That is if I remember correctly.
Yes they may be loaded BUT they cannot have a round chambered.

I've heard the ankle holster can be dangerous if you really need the gun, as it can take even a highly experienced person 5-6 seconds to get the gun out. Not to talk anyone out of getting an ankle holster, but...

The closer the better..."Hold on buddy, let me lift my pant leg and get my gun out" Right!!...No thank you.

On my side is wear mine stays. I have a 1 point saftey feature that when I draw, it leaves my finger right at the trigger.

Good points.

Just my .02 cents
For those new to the concealed carry side of handguns or just curious.
Ankle carry weapons are known mainly as back up weapons, sometimes smaller caliber or a much smaller weapon than the size they already carry and...... main intent is if the primary weapon is jammed, out of ammo, you are no longer in control of your primary weapon, you are knocked to the ground, fall down, dive to the ground etc. Then access is easier if on your sitting up or on your side.
I wouldn't rely on an ankle holster while in my vehicle either if that was the intent meant from a few posts above. I would have my weapon beside me secured so it will not move, where it is instantly available if needed. Then re holstered before getting outside of my vehicle.

I second the crossbreed. A 1911 is actually not as diffucult to conceal as many (who've never carried one) think. The 1911 has a slim frame, which I find very helpful when trying to conceal. I have a friend who only carries a full size Kimber, many times with jeans and a t-shirt. I recently carried his in a galco king tuk and really liked it. I have a crossbreed for my S&W MP9 (full size). The IWB holsters work best with "slim" to lean body types. Get something that is comfortable or you probably will not want to carry. Carrying is a decision, you dress around the gun. I do carry my wife's J From Model 60, I usually carry in a simple uncle mikes, but an considering a crossbreed for hers as well. Try several if you can, OWB is more comfortable, IWB is better for concealment. Its all in what you want. Good Luck on your search.
