ive seen it before, its usually a group of guys who dont want competition;

from "locals" although the GA border is less than 10mins away. LOL!

You hit the nail right on the head. This got started by a group out of GA that did not want to fish against anyone on the TN side that was in their minds a ringer. ;) It was all hashed out, complained about and supported by a couple years back. At the end of the day it is a private tournament you can try to fish if you are from GA. Some of the local ringers from GA got a cold shoulder too when they showed up. emoBigsmile I wish them all the best. emoThumbsup Jmax

It's been going on for years. I am a GA resident and have fished a couple of them but there are different people running them now, good group of guys. Some of the older group that is now gone didn't like any outsiders fishing with them unless you were just there to donate, they didn't care for a new guy to show up and win no matter which state you are from. We always fish the Monday night and Thursday night because it's better competition and the payouts are better if you do luck up and win one, plus I know those guys better.

There are tournaments on this lake about everyday of the week. So why get on a message board and whine and gripe about a small group of guys who want to have a tournament with only GA folk. I'm assuming there just having a good time at what they like to do and are not worried about big numbers or big payouts. Get over it and find another tourney there's plenty of them. Maybe someone who fishes them will post there weights weekly and then we will see how competitive they are.

Who is griping? Someone asked about it and we just told them about it. Like I said, it's run by a good group of people. The older group was different though, they should have called that the "Friends only tournament".

Seems to me as Jmax said its been hashed out before. Every year somebody on here is whining about not getting to fish the GA tourney or why they don't open it up to everyone. It is my understanding they moved it from Harrison Bay to Wolftever to try and get away from all the hoop la. But guess what just like the energizer bunny. Still going!! Lol Its there tourney for Christ sake. Somebody start up another one and leave those poor fellows out of it.

i ALWAYS think its funny to see tournaments with exclusionary rules, whats the point of competing(having tournaments) if youre going to limit the competition?(rhetorical question, btw) but quite honestly i dont give sh#t about their tournaments im just trying to create a list and gather info for folks that are looking for something to fish. would suck for a guy from Dayton to drive down to fish on Tuesday and get turned away because he's not from GA so having those details helps.

The GA guys need to incorporate some spacing rules. me and my son were fishing a flat in front of the park in about 6 ft of water and they ran up both sides of us within a cast of my boat. Some of the good ole boys out here would have handled it a little less passive than me just throwing my hands up. Dangerous and stupid!

Are there any more details for the safelight-1PM Saturday tournament? Not sure where that location is.
