HL&S, I look forward to meeting you! It will be a fun, low key, friendly tournament... Lots of joking and cutting up, before, during and after.

Some tournaments ban cellphone use between boats, but I see no problem with me calling Fishinvol or someone to talk trash!!!

BPrice, I'm looking forward to meeting you too.

Fun, laid back tx's are the only ones to fish. When it becomes a stress, it's time to stop. Besides, a good time makes ya feel like ya got a little something for your donation ! emoBigsmile

And ya do get to see a real live big fish without driving all the way to Nasville to the BPS aquarium.

Sounds like fun - I'll plan on coming down but can't fully commit here for another few weeks to figure out what work and the wife have planned.

So, who will fish with the new kid on the block? Only fished Mud Creek twice for short evenings in the summer... Would love to join someone who knows the water. Your boat or mine. And I'll be sure to TELL the wife I have plans that day AHEAD of time. She'll be shocked...

Hey Spencer, If you post this under the "need a ride" page you may get more responses. I am sure you will be able to hook up with someone.

Well I've heard so much about Guntersville from everyone that I have got to go on this one. BUT I will need to follow someone down as I have no idea where I am going and what I am doing when I get on the water. Any info about dangerous water or what to fish with would be appreciate via PM.

stay between the buoys in mud & crow creek for sure especially your first trip down. As you go down hwy 72 from south pittsburgh the first creek you cross will be crow creek just outside of stevenson and about 7-9 miles down you'll pass over another creek and that is mud. To get to the boat ramp at mud creek, you'll have to turn off of 72 as another back road will get you over to the ramp. Maybe somebody on here will know the name of the road and there are signs for boat ramp on 72 as well they are just a little hard to see in the dark.

That's the very reason why I've always been nervous about T's launching from the BACKS of the creeks down there. Everyone be careful...

Thanks info! I will probably try and follow someone down to the ramp or maybe mapquest it. I've heard it was kinda stumpy in mud creek so I doubt I'll be doing a lot of fast running until I know where I am. On the plus side I just got a HotMaps Premium for the area so it will give me some idea of the layout. Thanks again.

I wish the ramp there was bigger. We won't be the only ones fishing outa there. It was difficult getting boats out of the water last year. There will also be the added pressure of anglers practicing for the BFL Choo-Choo Division tournament that will be held the following Saturday.

Okay, I'm boatin' this one, but DO NOT know the lake. My partner doesn't either. So, I'd like to fish it in the next week or two and have someone go with me that knows the lake. Need to at least ride it and see what i'm gettin' into. Also, anyone got links to topographical maps of Nick, Chick and G?

I am going to try and get down there in the next couple/three weeks and see what the waters are like. I'd love to see some links myself if anyone has them, to some maps of the area.

I think the format for this trail could use one more FUN thing to do. Maybe throw in a couple of scattered Draw tournaments. Not saying, add more TXes, just maybe turn a few on the schedule into draws.

Whatcha y'all think?

Do you have a GPS unit with an Alabama card in it?

The new FHS-E card has TN,AL,GA lakes on their newest card. I bought one from EricB and I got another one for the front of my boat for christmas......... I love the fhs cards..........

Ok guys, lets refocus on the G'ville tournament, not the rest of the trail right yet... I understand about the difficulties at the ramp, with that being said, would folks feel more comfortable with it being launched from the expansive Hwy 117 ramp???

I know USA Bassin' is putting in there, but they have a two boat ramp and a better dock.

I need some input quick...

I can't advise you as I know nothing about the lake. I will say that we seem to have a lot of people going that have never been on the G, so if launching from a bigger ramp makes it safer and faster I am all for it. Up to you guys.
