Please give us your input concerning this possible change. We do not want to make anyone upset and if deemed necessary we will continue with the original date of this SATURDAY. However we would like input from the participants. We will confirm the date by Tuesday (28th) evening. ONCE AGAIN THIS WAS JUST A SUGGESTION and to see if there have been any arrangements made from out of town folks or family members which have made plans to participate this weekend.
CONCERNING CRACKERFEST:
This year has started out being a real challenge with getting donations due to our economy.
I also have not worked near as hard toward CRACKERFEST as I have in the years past. With the new addition of a baby boy to the family and also the passing of my Mom a few weeks back I have let Crackerfest slip up on me and have not been able to get hardly any donations. I believe Hamilton’s will donate a few items as they have in years past and Soddy has committed to giving a few items to Kathy. I have not been able to even get any donations from Wal- Mart this year. Point being I believe it is best to change CRACKERFEST up a little this year.
What we have discussed is: each participant bring a fishing/outdoors related “kids/ youth” item for each child that will be participating. I’m not going to set a dollar amount but it doesn’t have to be a big item but something for the youth. I hate to ask for this change for this year but I want CRACKERFEST to continue and the youth to have a great day. Should you not be able to donate, please still bring the kids and fish with us. Craig (Foodsaver) collected some money for Crackerfest (which will be used to buy a few items) and a few other donations we will receive should cover a prize for all youth that participates. Once again I hate to ask for the participants help but this is a fun day out with family and I want them all to receive something. If you are a member or advertiser and would like to donate an item for the youth please PM me or Kathy.

In the past we have collected $5 per participant and a max of $20 a boat. I am going to leave this open for debate also and see what you the participants want to do. I thought about dropping it to $1 per person (that way we would still have cash prizes to give out to the winning weight). I have thought about going with the $5 but max $10 per family. Since the participants are going to help with the prizes I don’t want this day to be a burdensome event but I do know the kids love getting money for their effort of catching the winning weight.
