From what everybody is saying about the fish not really showing up yet, my vote would be to postpone. I know it's only a few days away and people have plans. But, if you're doing this for the kids most of them will not have as much fun if there not catching. My .02

So far the responses are about 50 / 50 out of the 12 or so which have voiced their opinion of the 27 or so which have signed up or are planning to fish. Please if you have a preference please post it now. I will be getting with Billy, Kathy and Justin in a little while to try and reach a decision. Also keep in mind that the 23rd is Memorial Day weekend and we all know the lake will be full of "not so smart boaters"... I'm in if its this weekend. But will be out of town on the 23rd.

i caught several big crackers on lizards and brushhogs last friday while bass fishing. they are around. Also i am pretty surethey will be gone by memorial day. The lake is catchin up fast with mid 80 days and 65 degree nights. I would rather do it this weekend also if possible. i will most likely be with my brother and his sons.

They may not be full blown bedding yet but they are around to catch. I have seen a few beds the last week so i know they are starting.

I have serveral grandsons that are excited about the crackerfest, but they like "catching fish", if the fish have not moved up yet to the beds it will be slow fishing for the kids. I will go either way but postpone might make more sense for kids "catching Fish". I saw also where there is a 40% chance of rain for Saturday as well.

According to Paul channel three weather the chance of rain for saturday is increasing and he said this evening he is calling for significant rain for whatever that means in weather language (probably sunny all day)!! Unfortunately if it was to get postponed, the 9th or 16th would be better than the 23rd but the CBA is on the 9th and there is a CFF out of grasshopper on the 16th along with the big bass splash the 16th and 17th. I'm not so sure that the crackers will still be there by the 23rd since that is 3 weeks from this coming weekend. This weekend you may not be able to catch them as shallow but I do believe if they are not where they normally are they shouldn't be to far away. The only thing with the kids is they get bored quick if their not catching anything. I'm up for either weekend and if it's this weekend, lets hope the rain holds off.

i agree fishing fishing junkie it will be awful trying to fish it on memorial day weekend. so if ya'll change the date till then i won't be fishing it... to many idiots on the water on memorial day weekend

There are some on the beds now. Just had a friend call and said he found a slough that was full of them. The weather might be a the reason to postpone, but I agree that the 23rd would not be ideal. I would think that in another week they will be on fire.

Catmaster and I did some cracker pre-fishing this evening and went thru a ton of small fish to get a few good ones. They are not on the beds in good numbers. Those fish that we did find on the beds were not eating. As far as changing the date, it really does not matter to me.
