Tim Hudson, the senior seasoned starting pitcher for the Braves last night was pitching a great game and during one of the plays a Met's player at first stepped on his ankle and broke it. One of those weird accidents that some times happens in sports. emoBang He will be out for the rest of the season. He will be hard to replace, with them in 1st place in the NL I sure hope they can. Drat! It is always something with my Braves anymore. emoDoh Thoughts and prayers go out to Tim and his family for a quick and full recovery. emoBawl Jmax

I am with you on the thoughts and prayers. Hudson is a good guy and represents the sport very well. At his age, those kinds of injuries CAN be career enders. It was gruesome to watch [only once] and I also felt bad for Eric Young. He had nowhere to go and you could tell he was devistated for his part in the accident. I hope they both heal well...

That was tough to watch, I hope the Braves can keep building on their lead in the East. I really don't want to play St. Louis in the first round.

And to think we have a Sports section.....I wonder what we should put in that forum Jim?

GOOBER!

Sorry, did not even occur to me to put it here. I moved it. emoBigsmile Goobermax

Bad for the Bravos and Tim. He may be through. He has that ranch for all those under privileged kids and his wife is an attorney. He ain't hurt'in for money and you know he has a butt load of insurance. I know he loves the game, but why go back? I'd hunt, fish, play with my wife and kids on my ranch. Eric Young was a true gentleman and sportsman showing concern and class.

What's the deal with Beachey? I thought he was coming back up and they were looking for a place to start him.
What really stinks is Huddy's gonna have to sit it out with BJ!! emoVomit

I read where Beachy is replacing Huddy and will make his first start of the year on Sunday. Hopefully the team will rally around Huddy because he is one of the main leaders in that clubhouse and I am sure will have a big presence whether he is on the field or not. I look to see the Braves try to deal for a good pitcher before the deadline... We can't expect Beachy to return immediately to the form he had before Tommy John last season... If he does that should just be a bonus!
