Check ground wires on those units that shut down when cranking outboard, also use "NO CORRODE" for electrical connections, will eliminate lots of problems. can get NO CORRODE jells at any parts store or electrical supply.

BS just went back through al the posts very quickly ( may have missed one or missed counted). Out of the 20 replys 12 Low/Eagle owners had a problem similar in nature. One (1) did not mention a brand and no not one mentioned Hummingbird. Just thought it was interesting. Sort of a mini poll of DF owners.emoScratch KF

Probly join with youBS by buyinga Hummingbird on my next purchase.

The reason or reasons that I didn't get a Hummingbird when I got the Eagle a couple of years ago was cost for the first consideration. The 2nd reason is because I have a Hummingbird 565 was has been a suckie unit ever since I bought it. Absolutely lies about the depth nearly all the time. I called Hummingbird and was told among other things was that I couldn't run two DFs at the same time as the transducers would produce confusion. I don't buy that as I have run 2 units before without this problem. Years ago I had problems with Hummingbird units as well. Never had owned a Lowrance/Eagle unit and I am very satisfied with the performance of the Eagle. It just turns on occasionally by itself. I just unplug it. No big problem. It may become a big problem someday and when that happens, then I will address it at that time.

According to my Humminbird 47, the water temperature at the Riverpark this morning was 133 degrees. emoEek

Fortunately in most cases I could really give a flip about water temps... the 3-D depth readout still works great (even when it shows me fish that won't bite emoBang )

Besides... the console depth finder temp still works.

Oh, Richard, now we know you secret catfish hole. You were fishing over that hot spring down there. I know exactly where that is. 133 degrees year round.
