The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be conducting fisheries surveys and assessments during the 2009 field season in the Aitkin fisheries area. </p>
Fisheries surveys and assessments monitor changes in fish populations and determine whether management strategies have been effective. Survey frequency varies on each lake depending on angler use, lake size, frequency of stocking, DNR staff use the data in developing individual fisheries lake management plans.
