Hey guys if you are like me and fire up the grill on weekends to do the backyard worrier grill thing than you may want to know this. I like to grill deer steaks and rib eyes on the grill. I have for years soaked my steaks in Dales and it is great but the stuff has gotten very high over the past couple years. At the beginning of this year I was in Dollar General and saw a steak seasoning liquid like Dales but a third of the price. I tried it and man I could not tell the difference, if you do not do this you should try it and you will be hooked. As cheap as that stuff is it is worth the investment and makes your steaks taste a lot better. You can use it more than once just when you are done sift the liquid for any fat or unwanted left overs and put it in the frig.

Thanks for the great info Jmax! I put dales on chicken, pork, burgers, steaks, portabellas... I bet that stuff would make tree bark taste good. I am glad to know there is a cheaper alternative.

Yeah - thanks Jmax. I too am a big fan of Dales and will be looking into this. Anybody use Allegro? It tastes a lot like Dales but not quite as salty. I tend to use it more for chicken and save the Dales for steak and shrimp.

Jmax, what is the name of the Dales look-a-like? A bottle goes quick, especially when you marinate meat in a large Ziploc. It' not like you can pour it back in the bottle.

That is what I do, I will sift it so the liguid is as clean as I can get it and pour it back into the bottle and than put it in the frig. I will use it three times at the most on steaks if it looks o.k. I would not want to try this if you let it get hot, might make you sick you know. The stuff is $1.00 a bottle and it comes in a clear plastic bottle with a yellow lable. It says, Bulliard's Louisianna Supreme Steak Seasoning, like I said it even smells like Dales. I cannot tell the difference except in the price. On the lable the thing has the same stuff in it as Dales it looks like to me. It is in Dollar General where they have the dressings, peanut butter, jelly and those type of items.emoCool Jmax

My brother told me of one called Moore's. It taste alot like Dales except not as salty. I don't remember the price on it. But if you want something with the taste but not all the salt try this.

Uh guys?!?!? How can I teach MY man to cook!?!?!?! Gets old running from the grill to the stove fron the stove to the grill!!!!!

I don't know how to answer that, when I met my wife she burned the water. I have always accused her of marrying me becasue I like to cook. It sure was not my looks.emoLaugh I gave up on her trying to cook and just do it myself. Speaking of that we are having deer strogganoff on noodles with broccoli with a light cheese sauce and crecent rolls. I had better get off this thing in a few and start supper. The other thing is I like my own cooking, it is no wonder I am over weight.emoTongue Jmax

LOL... oh well, should have know not to expect mine to cook since the first "dinner" he tried to fix for me when we were dating... he burned the steak, he burned the squash, he burned the bread... suprised he didnt burn the salad too. emoLaugh Since that was 13 years ago, I guess it is too late to try to retrain now.

Carol, Carol, Carol. I sly ploy by your husband. He ruined the first meal for you ON PURPOSE so as to make you THINK he couldn't cook. That is why he is out fishing all the time now.

I'll bet the first time he helped you try to "clean up around the house" he made a huge mess out of that, too!!

When and myself knows and done all those tricks. That is why we get out of the house a lot and fish our secret hole.

When.... you sly boy you... guess that is why he scewed up dinner... Help around the house? HA HA HA emoLaugh He has never done that. "You take care of the inside and I do the outside" ok but what about all the months there is no outside work?!?!? But guess who also has outside work to do too?!? Flower beds..... garden..... yard to do on the tourney weekends? Hmmm.... i think somehow I was shafted..emoScratch

Yep. You need to let him know that he has been found out thanks to some good friends on the CFF.

What you need to do is take all the plugs and keys out of his boat and hide them until he admits and SHOWS you he can cook a decent meal and run the vacuum cleaner.

I dont think i will take the keys and plugs out.... Typically, he dumps in the water then starts it.... i can see it now... the Bullett sinking to the bottom and me losing my life when he gets home. Oh well, what is a girl to do... oh yeah, the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry, help with homework, the little one to bed and pray the older kiddo makes it home ok from work and at a decent hour and pack breakfasts and lunches for everyone for the next day inbetween that....

I`D HAVE TO SAY THAT A MAN COULD GET OFF FOR KILLING HIS WIFE FOR SABOTAGING HIS BULLET...AFTER ALL IT IS JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE !!!emoEnforce

I guess you got me there!!

By the way, did you happen to be at TNDoe's yesterday evening? I think she must have had a cookout/party for her brother returning from Iraq. That would be my first guess anyway.

Now how do I know this? I started to stop by and introduce myself just to see who all was there from CFF, if anyone. They probably would have thought I was crazy.

I don't think they were eating corn dogs.

WHEN,
Most certainly was!!! Sure wish you would of stopped in!!!! Speaking for the small group I fish with alot....we never meet a stranger and it would of been great had you stopped in. Matter of fact ..we did consume a form of those Special Baits you use....however these were not breaded...just plain jane dogs. We are saving the special bait for CFF5!!
You also assumed correctly...Jimmy was here for a week and left out this morning to fly back up NORTH (Where his fiance is from) then head back to the Sand Wend. He should be returning back State side (hopefully for good) around Sept. We had a good time getting together last night and swaping some good ole fish / hunting tales (lies) and as the night went on , I believe the tales were growing even bigger but those cold beverages might of had a little something to do with it!! Wish you would of stopped by!!! I wanted to see just how you hook up that ole CORNDOG anyways!! WHO KNOWS???? Might of just talked you in to letting me be that "trial" person before you take TT!!!!!!!emoSmile emoSmile
TT.......I am just jokingemoParty I wouldn't try and root you out but I'm not much on turning down a fishing trip emoScratch emoSmile
