Does anyone like steaks?

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

Well, I'll be darn. I have recognized TNDoe from some of the pics from the CFF tourneys. I figured that was her house. I've seen her out cleaning fish/working in the yard, etc. Boy, sounds like I'm in that area a lot. Wonder why? Or should I say wonder, Why? I may know of someone or two who live near there. Man, if Carol or TT finds this out, they will be getting the maps out again!! But I think Carol already knows where Why lives, so it's no secret. I'm going to throw the old corn dog this evening. Trying to find some fish for the dogfight out of Soddy tomorrow.

WHEN,
You have seen her out cleaning fish??? Must of been during one of her trips without me or someone gave them to heremoLaugh Just joking tndoe. I better keep my mouth shut...she will sneak a pic to post (with that dern phone) in my next fishing expedition. Lord knows about every trip results with at least one "ought ohhhh"!!

Since you mentioned it!!
emoScratch Are you going to be passing by tndoe this evening??? Trickery!!! Dern if I'm not trying to get information nowemoCool emoCool and you thought those comments I made in my earlier post "we meet no stranger" were actually sincere words emoBigsmile ...."all is fair in the quest for the secret hole"! emoGeezer
Good luck this evening!!

I'll tell you what, if I "happen by there" and see her out I'll toot and wave and she can tell you. The next time I see her out cleaning fish I'll take a picture and post it!!

I saw the title of this post and immediately got interested. Then was disappointed when I read the first thread. People actually like Dales. i guess its ok if you buy meat with no taste and have to add something. (NOTE: this is in jest, as insulting a man's grilling is about the same as insulting his boat, and I don't wanna get 'accidentally' hooked at the next tourney ;)

I cook most of my meals for myself, as I'm single and live with 3 other college guys. and i LOVE to grill. no gas though.. I'm also poor, since being a grad student doesn't pay too well, and i eat a couple of deer a year. If any of you have ever used the Cajun Injector, there is a marinade called 'Creole Butter' i dont' use the syringe to inject, its usually too much trouble for me. i just put the steak/tloin/bstrap in a ziplock bag with this stuff for a couple hours in the fridge before i fire up the grill. its amazing. You can find it for sure at bass pro, some other store may carry it.

for steaks i like just sprinkling a little garlic salt and lemon pepper and fire'n them up. never overcook, med rare is just fine.

Hey cooperjd... sounds like you got it all figured out!! Try Tony Chachere's sometime if you like a little kick. I use that stuff on everything!

I'm the cook, as well. Still looking for a woman that cooks. Then again, I'd settle for one that has diverse tastes, and I'd be happy to do the cooking. They're all so picky... or maybe I am...

Something else that Dale's (or a copy) goes good on is grilled vegetables. I like grilled squash, zucchini, asparagas, etc. *Lightly* brush Dales over the vegetables, allow the Dale's to soak in, then lightly brush with virgin olive oil before tossing on the grill.

Hangnmoss.... a woman would be lucky to get a man that cooks!!! I have tried the dales on vege's as well. Do you do your kabob your or do foil packs?

Carol I've been trying to convince my wife of just how lucky she really is for years.emoUpsmile emoUpsmile

Cheez.... tell your wife that she is very lucky!!! I think I need to send the other half for some training with you. Cheez's School of Culinary Training ;)

Im the cook in the family too although we split it alot of times. She will cook something quick and easy but now that we are putting up a deck I think we will eat off the grill more often. I use italian dressing and worcester sauce and it makes a great marinade. I also like honey and garlic on chicken it bronzes up real good! We made some baklava last week and it was awesome and not nearly as hard as you would think. If anyone wants a link to a recipe for the baklava shoot me a PM.

do make homeade dales all you gotta do is steal a bottle of soy sauce from yor local chinese restaraunt and put a lot of salt in it ... it gives an exoctic flavor and in my opinion , better.....lmfao j/k

You know what is cool about this post?????? I started this about a year ago and it is still hanging around. Just shows we got some steak eaters in this bunch.emoLaugh Jmax

I love steak but I like the taste of meat. Don't put anything on the porterhouse steaks I grill almost every weekend but a little salt. Keep it medium rare and dig in.

It is a joke in my bass clubs - I grill a porterhouse or TBone every Saturday night on two day tournaments. I have a small grill I bought in 1977 when I got my first van and still use it - have to put tinfoil in bottom to hold most of the charcole in, but it still works! That grill has lots of memories in it.

I'm the cook around here and have been for years. I pride myself in my own resipes. I used Dales in the past but as earlier mentioned, I had rather taste the food instead of Dales. When Dales on toast taste the same as a porterhouse, something is wrong. I used to mix my own combination of spices to get the desired taste. I then found and purchased McCormicks Monteray Steak spice - WOW! Same taste. That spice is like what I mixed for myself.

You do not need to put anything at all on your steaks or burgers except for McCormicks Monteray Steak spice.

Try it and you will quit smothering the taste of your meat with Dales. (Sorry Dale)

Dales has a Low sodium sause that I hear is not as harsh tasting, I may try that on some fried bologna. LOL

My mamma taught me to cook while I was growing up on a chicken farm back in the 1950s - she figgured I would never find a woman to cook for me, and she was right. My wife Linda is a great cook but she is not home much, her job keeps her away. Maybe that is why we have been married for 35 years.

I really like to cook and most of my cooking reflects my farm life - gotta have some kind of green veggie and a meat and a starch at every meal. Just about my favorite is to stick a Boston Butt pork roast in the crock pot, cook it all day, pull it out and serve it with turnip greens, corn bread, field peas, cut corn and tomatoes. Of course the greens and peas have to be cooked with fatback and lots of butter in the corn!

Wow Ronnie, When is Dinner gonna be ready? What a way to make us suffer. All those greens with that pork roast is what I am hungrey for. I did not know it until I read your post.

I think I know why your wife has kept you around for 35 yrs. LOL

Yea - also the reason we are both overweight!

She makes fun of me about my insistence on having certain things together. Like when I put venison cube steaks in the crock pot with sliced onion and bell pepper, a can or two of diced tomatos and a can of tomato paste. With that I gotta have rice, steamed cabbage and corn bread.

Steamed is really not the right term for the way I cook cabbage - I get some bacon grease hot in a big skillet, chop up the cabbage and dump it in. Cover and shake around to get some grease on all the cabbage. Then put some water in, cover and cook till it is soft! I like my cabbage cooked.

Drives me crazy.... every time I see the subject line pop up in "New Posts," all I can think is, "that's a stupid question." In fact, it's a cruel question when I've been on the water for 10 hours with nothing more than a pack of cheese crackers. emoHungry
