Don't Buy Batteries From Walmart

I have had the same experience with Wal-Mart batteries. I have been using AC/Delco size 30 for about 15 years or however long its been since Wal-Mart sold the Stowaway batteries that I re-named Throwaway batteries. They are expensive, and I often get them on sale at KMart if they still carry them. They usually put them on sale this time of year.

I don't like the Interstate! I swapped out 5 in three years! Right now I'm on two Blue Optimax on the TM {only about 10 months old} and still an Interstate on the starter, {which I'll probably need to replace this year} but I won't buy or swap for Interstate again. Delco or Optimax so far for me!

Duralast from Autozone all the way. Never had an issue and they stay charged for days, I know because I forget to charge them often and go multiple trips with no issue. Couse I have a Minn Kota Maximum that uses no juice but still, great batteries.

Some say there is like two companies that supply all batteries, for me I am going interstate. I don't care if it is a lawnmower battery. I don't know what it is about them, but had good service out of them. Just me.

Seven years ago I needed a battery for my truck and one for my lawn mower, I went to Sears and ask them who made their batteries. I was told that Exide made all of their batteries except for the Diehard and it was made by Johnson Controls, that told me alot, so I went to Autozone and ask the same question and was told that Johnson Controls made all their batteries. I bought one each and both are still going. If Johnson Controls still makes batteries for Autozone, then I think I will buy my next trolling battery from them.

Just got 2 new AC Delco class 29 from Jerome @ Franklin Marine so far so good. Jerome gave me a better deal than Ken Smith's or anyone else.

The class 29 has a high reserve but is not sealed so you have to keep a check on the water levels.

I have ran batteries from Wal-mart along time and have never had a problem with them. I just bought new ones from there and the old ones were 4 or 5 years old. I fish 3 or 4 days a week and they hold up great for me and I fish the river with all that current.

I have to say that I have bought my batteries from Walmart for the last time. I have replaced them every year or every other year since I have used them. Mostly because they were cheaper duh!. I now would rather pay more and skip the hassle. Lesson learned.

Don't get me wrong... I am a Walmart fan. They generally provide great products at bargain prices.

However, I have purchased my LAST trolling motor battery from Walmart. The last three... count 'em... three trolling motor batteries I've bought at Walmart have all been returned prior to their appropriate expiration date. The most recent one, a 3-year battery, made it one season. First time out this year, the fully-charged battery went DOA in three hours.

To their credit, the guys at the Walmart Service Center are cooperative, test the batteries, and don't hesitate to say, "Yep, it's bad. We'll have to give you credit on it."

But I've had it with having to wondering how long the next one will last.

Who's got a surefire suggestion on battery brand and local retailer that I can depend on.

I'd get a Deka 1050CCA...they're the best!

I love my Wallies, I won't fish with anything else. When a battery begins to not work right I am done. It may be the Friday before a tournament or the Saturday of, I can replace batteries anywhere in the country 24/7/365.

I have had good service, nuff said........

DITTO..TAKE THEM BACK ANYTIME..

I've got the original batteries in my boat. 2000 model ranger with a 101lb thrust troll motor so i get to haul 4 batteries around with me, but I can't complain. It was my granddads boat and he fished and reppd for acdelco. And by the way this boat sat for 2 years before I got it without a charge put on those batteries. Somehow they keep on kickin great and all day long

Deka and Duralast are the ones I hear most people brag about how happy they are with them. I have had great luck with using Duralast car batteries (even, and know at least one person that never bothers to buy the marine version!) and have one in my boat right now when I need 24 volts from my 12/24 v omc. The main battery for my trolling is a blue top optima which seems to be still going strong after at least 8 years. I don't tourney fish but do fish often for 6 to 8 hours, sometimes more. One point, just because a battery at WalMart is made by some good manufacturer doesn't mean it's the same battery as sold as the company's "house" brand. It might be that there's some saved costs somewhere in order to offer it at a cheaper price. The manufacturer usually won't put its house brand on it....

Walmart changes suppliers all the time. But I have never known them to be Johnson Controls. I have Duralast from Autozone in both my boats and several vehicles. Never a problem out of them. As far as I'm concerned they go beyond the call of duty. I even have one that hasn't been i a vehicle for 5 years that will still crank a big block Ford if called upon.

Ive bought many wally world batteries, and everyone I ever bought said Johnson Controls on the battery , unless they have changed in the last year or so.

Johnson Controls makes Walmarts batteries. Johnson Controls makes batteries for several different companies, including Interstate, AutoZone, Sears, and etc.

So Buy them where you will Ive always had good luck with wally world batteries
