Fished CFF #3 out of HBSP. Took off and went straight to the slough where i wanted to primarily focus my time and energy. Went to the back partand immediately started throwing a Redeye Shad in Chrome Sexy Shad. On the fourth cast I hooked up and immediately thought I had hooked a nice largemouth. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an uglycatfish in the 5-6 pound range. Released the whiskered critter and continued to fish. Caught three slicks on the lipless crank then moved up to where I knew a few fish were sitting on beds. Messed with all three fish for approximately1.5 hours, hooking up one fish, then loosing it at the boat on a Big Bite Warmouth in Chart Bluegill. Fish would have gone 3-4 pounds. After that, I moved down the bank and concentrated on a group of laydowns that I felt like would hold fish. Caught 10 fish off the wood,8 largemouth, a large bluegill, and a crappie. All of these fish were caught on Big Bite bait Brush Pigs and Missile Baits D Bombs texas rigged on 1/4 and 3/16 tungsten. Two keepers caught wereboth much skinnier than I had expected. Never could catch that last solid keeper or cull what I had. The area in which I was fishing got crowded in a hurry, with no less than 8 boats sharing the slough before I decided to finally leave.

Due to a few issues with the big motor, headed back to HBSP and fished the marina for about 30 minutes. Decided to load up around 12:45to get ready for the weigh-in. Thanks to all that came out and hope to see everyone at the Riverpark.
