Candi and I got out for about 3+ hours this afternoon for a crappie chase. We kept looking for gulls to chase bait with Stripers under them, but nothing happening there.

She wanted a few fish for the freezer, so we kept 7 fish and released all the rest. Had about 9 keepers and 5 throwback size. It was a very slow day. Most of our fish came on off shore structure in 20 feet of water, but a couple, maybe 4 came from docks.

We quit around 3:30. I talked to the ranger at HBSP about the ramp repair and he said that he was told that it would be done in the March/April time frame. Bids are being let now for the job. He said that it would be done right this time. They will built a coffer dam, pump all the water out, extend the ramp so that guys with the big motors won't be causing the big holes at the end of the ramp anymore. We will see. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

What a gorgeous day to be outside on the lake! Thanks for taking me fishing today, it was just what I needed. Special treat was the loon that kept surfacing around our marker, I thanked it for hanging out long enough to get its picture made and then after it watched us catch a few fish it never surfaced again where we could find it. Later we heard its call across the mirror reflected lake, something you want hear out christmas shopping at the mall. Yep today on the water was the best place to be. Thanks again DK! emoBigsmile

Thought that was you two that I saw. I can't get use to that new boat. DK you were easier to spot when you had the other and the engine cover off. emoAngel Good to see you two out there. emoThumbsup Jmax

Candi, I am sure the ones you put in the freezer will sure taste good one day when it is TOO cold to catch some new ones. Enjoyed the pics, just wondered where DK's mask was.

Under the console. It was on while we were running up and down the lake. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

DK, I am going to get one of those things when and if I get over my recent purchase. January is coming up fast and Dianne's treatments are going as good as could be expected.
