Today, it finally happened. I got to fish with the Kid on Chickamauga. Wheee! We were looking for fish for the kids that we are going to take on Thursday and Friday.
We wore the clicker out on Brian's boat. Nearly every type of structure that we tried was either void of fish or there were plenty of fish that would not bite a single lure. But we got in on 2 great fishing moments and put over 100 fish in the boat. Mostly small fish, but kids don't care what size they are. I just hope that the fish will bite Thursday and Friday.
I think that Brian only caught crappie, but did lose a big fish that broke his line and since we didn't see the fish, I determined that it was a drum. emoUpsmile
I was the junk fisherman today. 1 Skipjack about 2 pounds. 1 golden shiner. 1 yellow bass, and 1 TARP yellow perch. (11.5"). I experimented with several different colors and lures, but finally settled on Outlaw Special. That is the only lure that Brian has in his boat. I'm surprised that he even let me use other colors. emoBigsmile
The fish that we caught were on docks, but not every dock had fish. If fish were on them, they were stacked and eager to bite. We used 1/32 and 1/24 oz jig heads and Bobby Garland 2" Baby Shads.
Thanks for taking me fishing today, Kid. I owe you more than you know. You never did tell me not to tell anyone where we were fishing, but I won't tell anyway. All community holes, folks. See you in the morning, Brian. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
