I went back and looked at the pics. again......That is a good spot.......Very familiar with that spot.... LOL

You won't find me hiding locations in my pics like so many other do. It doesn't matter to me or Rick about this place. It is such a tough lake to fish for crappie that one may actually locate the fish and still not know how to catch them. Rick told me over and over that he doesn't like to fish deep and it showed yesterday. This isn't a knock on Rick's ability to fish cause he is a really good bass and walleye fisherman. I don't think that the fish have schooled up in big numbers . Let the water cool off another 10 to 15 degrees and it will really get to be good fishing everywhere. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
If the cool nights keep coming this water will cool quick and then the bite will be on at the dead sea.....

Tims Ford haunts me, DK. It can be a heartbreaker! I think
you guys are figuring it out.

I have always maintained that DK could catch crappie in my bathtub... emoBigsmile

Good job on the Black Nose, emoThumbsup That looks like some fine eatin' there, emoHungry
Wish we had more of those big Black Nose here, emoEek

Drumking, thanks for all you do on this board. I'm reasonably new to crappie fishing and your help, advice, and honesty is greatly appreciated and very useful to a newbie. Thanks so much! I wish others would do the same.

I am very happy to help anyone learn how to crappie fish in particular and just fish in general. I remember when I first started out and you couldn't get anyone to tell you anything that was true. Nearly all lied about what, how, where, technique, etc. You name it, they lied about it or didn't say anything at all. Things haven't changed much these days.

I will tell you this. I have received much more from the members of CFF than I have ever given back. This is something that most just don't understand or believe. It is to their loss.

Thank you for the encouragement and kind words. Good luck in your fishing experience. Get some Hi-Vis yellow line in the 4 lb test preferably or 6 lb test maximum and become a line watcher. Nearly all of your crappie bites will be visual. You rarely ever feel the fish bite the lure until it is spitting the lure out. If your line ever does anything different than just fall naturally, set the hook. You will be surprised how many more fish you will catch. Master the jig and you can catch any fish that swims. Good luck. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
