EFI vs Optimax

I've have a 225 Optimax, and my regular fishing buddy has a 225 EFI. We both spend quite a bit of time in each others boats. He wants to trade motors

I believe the biggest reason is fuel economy. My GPH usage is less than his, and I have a heavy tub for a boat. His motor runs great otherwise, and has had minimal problems. I haven't had a problem with my current Opti, nor my last one. Oil usage is very low compared to previous generations of motors, another plus. emoThumbsup

Gator, what size motor are you looking at?? You may or may not be able to buy EFI depending on what size. In my opinion, you would be much better off anyway, with one of the newer motors, no matter which brand you buy. They are so much more fuel efficient, and the warranties are such that you shouldnt have to worry.
