Electric Primer system

My Primer is leaking around the outside valve because there is a crack in it. My question is, does the valve just pull out to be replaced or do I need to take it completely apart to install the new valve? most people just replace the whole thing but i am sure if u know what part is bad it could be replaced.PM wrechin2 he is our motor guru.

If you are changing the valve (#11 in the link) Just loosen the 4 screws and lift the top up about 1/8" and the valve will then slide out. There is a raised pin on the body that holds the valve in. Where are you located? I work on Chapman road and have some of these if it will help you get back on the water. I just put one in my lunchbox and will have it with me tomorrow if it will help you get on the water by this weekend.
